It was a very ht day in late summer. I was a yung dad wrking in a lcal wd mill. It was dangerus，back-breaking wrk that paid very little. Writing in the jurnal Scientific Reprts, Miguel Prtela said parents had less risk f dying frm infectin than nn-parents and if they did, it was abut five years later. He said that “a parent’s immune system is refreshed by a child’s infectins at a time when their wn prtectin starts wearing thin.” He added, “With this imprved immune system, the parent has a better chance t defend whatever infectins that might strike when ld and weak and parenthd is rewarded in individual terms thrugh an imprved immunizatin against infectins.” Naturally there are ther reasns why sme peple live lnger than thers, but they may nt be cmparable with becming a parent.
