教学目标:
1.能听、说、读、写单词science museum, post office, bookstore, cinema, hospital。
2.能够询问某个建筑的位置,并用方位介词来描述位置。eg:—Where is the cinema?—It's next to the bookstore.。
3.能完成“Make a map and talk”部分的任务。
4.培养学生在学习过程中合作学习的意识。

教学过程:
Step 1: Warm-up
1.播放本单元歌曲“Where is the hospital?”大家先跟着一起唱,进入英语课堂学习氛围。
2.我做你说小游戏。教师拿出道具橡皮和书,根据橡皮和书的位置关系,复习三、四、五年级学习过的方位介词如:in, on, under, near, beside等。
Step 2: Presentation
1.教师出示一张电影院的图片,并问学生“What's this?”学生回答“It's a cinema.”以同样的方式教授新单词“science museum”“post office”“bookstore”“cinema”“hospital”。
2.学生开火车读新单词,教师拿出单词卡片教读新单词,并让学生听录音,模仿跟读学习正确的发音和语音语调。
3.教师将这些新单词图片放在一幅图中,并设定好位置关系。
T: Where is the cinema?
Ss: It's next to the bookstore.
T: Where's the bookstore?
Ss: It's in front of the science museum.
同桌效仿例句,根据图片位置关系,灵活运用方位介词询问所要问的目标,然后找小组上来模拟对话。
Step 3: Consolidation and extension
- Make a map and talk。小组二人一组,自制地图,设定建筑位置,根据自己所设定的位置,同桌二人之间问答,注意运用句型“Where is…?”“It's+方位介词(短语)”。eg:

S: There is a pet hospital in my city.
T: Where is it?

2.小组间比比记单词。每组六个人,一人做动作,剩下5个人根据动作说单词,反映应该快和准,比一比哪个小组最优秀,如:看书动作就是bookstore。
3.课堂小练习。
(1) Science museum
Post office
Bookstore
Cinema
Hospital
(2) There is a pet hospital next to the park. (next to; between over)
(3) The hospital is behind the bookstores. (above; on; behind)
(4) There are two post offices in my city.
Step 4: Homework
1.将新学单词写在四线三格里。
2.运用所学句型写几个对话,并背下来。

本课时主要学习新单词science museum, post office, bookstore, cinema, hospital,并能运用句型“Where is …?”“It's+方位介词/介词短语”描述某个建筑。学习的时候要注意方位介词的区分,注意新单词都比较长,教师要教授方法并帮助学生记忆单词。
