Astronauts get to experience many interesting attractions. When astronauts go to space, they can become weightless. They get to see Earth as a little blue dot. Astronauts get to experience shooting up into space at 20,000 miles per hour. That is more than three times faster than an airplane. Sill, food is not one of the interesting parts of being an astronaut. Space travelers have had to eat strange foods. One example is liquid salt and pepper.
However, the menu for astronauts is going to grow. Scientists have been growing lettuce in outer space. The lettuce is just as safe, nutritious(有营养的) and tasty as lettuce grown on Earth Gioia Mass works at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. She is the lead scientist on the lettuce growing project. She said that growing food in space could be pivotal for astronauts on long missions(任务). Massa says that today’s space food may not work for these longer missions. This packaged food is stored for a long time. The quality and taste of the food goes down. In addition, the vitamins in the food start to breakdown. Massa says the astronauts may not get enough nutrition from these foods during long missions.
She also added that there could be another benefit to growing food in space. Looking after plants could help astronauts emotionally. Space food has improved in recent years. Many astronauts visit the International Space Station (ISS). It is a research station in outer space. Anything sent to ISS has to be perfect on a taste test. Even so, astronauts can grow tired of eating the same old meals. Massa says many of the astronauts end up losing weight.
The space-grown lettuce was similar to Earth-grown lettuce. In fact, some of the space-grown plants had more nutrients than Earth-grown lettuce. The space lettuce also had higher levels of bacteria(细菌). This was possibly because the lettuce grew in a warmer, more humid system. However, none of this bacteria was dangerous.

Most people in their eighties would consider themselves lucky not to have health problems, but this is not the case with Toshisuke Kanazawa. The 82-year-old Japanese bodybuilder is not only in perfect physical condition, he also looks better than a lot of men a quarter his age.
Kanazawa is living proof (证明) that you’re never too old to hit the gym and achieve the body you’ve always dreamed of. A champion bodybuilder in his youth, Kanazawa stopped exercising completely after he retired at age 34, drinking, smoking and eating whatever he liked. It wasn’t until he turned 50 that he got his motivation to regain the perfect body of his younger years.
Kanazawa’s wife felt sick frequently, and the former bodybuilder remembered that she had never been happier than when he won the national championship. So to please her, he decided to return to the gym and completely change his diet.
His workout schedule had to be adjusted to his age as well. In his youth, he would spend up to six hours training in the gym every day, and his body would recover within two days after a particularly intensive (强化的) workout, but that was not the case anymore. He cut the daily gym time to three hours and started giving his body one week to recover after exercising every muscle group.
Kanazawa’s efforts paid off. In 2016, at the age of 80, Kanazawa defeated many opponents and placed sixth in the world in a contest for bodybuilders over 65, and won the admiration of the crowd.
Sport keeps this elderly man healthy, as he claims not to have suffered so much as a cold since he started bodybuilding again at age 50.
“I want to be a super old man in the bodybuilder community,” Kanazawa said, “If I have a goal, I can continue moving forward. I have to work much harder.”

Sagarika Sriram was 10 years old when she started reading newspaper stories about a planet in trouble, one of which was about turtles with plastic in their stomachs. Sagarika knew she needed to do something. First, she joined a group which organized cleanup campaigns in her home city, Dubai “The group helped me understand what an individual can do and how I can really make a difference,” she says.
Then Sagarika created Kids for a Better World. It’s a digital platform which has brought together nearly 10,000 youths from all over the world with the goal to create a greener world.
Sagarika is now 16. She’s part of a growing number of young climate activists. “We’re the generation that is going to face the results if the climate crisis is not dealt with,” she says. She believes even individual actions can create a “ripple effect”. Sagarika says this can build momentum and can move things in the right direction.
Kids for a Better World is for people aged 8 to 16. It teaches them about what they can do to reverse climate change. They can grow food, plant trees, collect recyclables and avoid using plastic bags. “This is the information which can help change our future,” Sagarika says.
Dubai is a desert metropolis. Growing up there has made Sagarika very aware of the need for action. Her city faces the risk of rising temperatures and its water supply is shrinking. She believes young people can bring attention to these environmental challenges.
Sagarika is all about small actions, but she has big plans. She’d like to go to college in California. While she’s there, she’ll continue being an activist. Every year, it’s estimated that as many as one billion birds are killed in the US from collisions with glass windows and buildings. Birds that crashed into Philadelphia buildings began to be collected in the 1890s. Nearly 100 species of birds are known to have died out from crashes with buildings and other structures in Philadelphia. Many other species are probably affected in the city.
Called Lights Out Philly, the voluntary program in Philadelphia encourages buildings to turn out or dim unnecessary external and internal lights between midnight and six o’clock early in the morning to protect birds as they pass through during migration seasons.
Bird migration seasons are from April 1 to May 31 in spring and from August 15 to November 15 in fall. Each year, millions of birds pass through Philadelphia along a migration route known as the Atlantic Flyway. Bird-glass crashes are very common for migrating birds, most of which travel at night. Glass is difficult for them to recognize as hard surfaces, and artificial light can fool them into crashing with buildings and outdoor structures. Turning off lights between midnight and sunrise helps minimize the effect of artificial light when most birds are migrating.
On Oct. 7, 2020, a stormy and foggy day, Philadelphia had its largest mass collision event in more than 70 years with an estimated 1,000 birds crashing with buildings in one 3.5-square block area in just one day. Paired with a terrible storm of weather and fog conditions, the bright city and building lights attracted and confused the migrating birds, causing them to crash with buildings and outdoor structures.
Even if you don’t play a part in managing the lights of a big building, you can help birds avoid crashes by making the glass opaque to reduce the amount and intensity of artificial light at night, changing the color of lighting to blue or green, shortening the duration lights are on, directing the lighting downward or screening lighting.
19.What is the first paragraph mainly about?
A.The rich diversity of bird species in Philadelphia.
B.The design characteristics of buildings in Philadelphia.
C.The serious consequence of bird-glass crashes in Philadelphia.
D.The failure of attempts to protect migrating birds in Philadelphia.
20.What was the factor adding to the severity of the collision On Oct7, 2020?
A.Traveling in the bright daylight. B.Unfavorable weather conditions.
C.The unusual migration route. D.Too many buildings in the block.
21.What does the underlined word “opaque” mean in the last paragraph?
A.Transparent. B.Delicate. C.Light-reflecting. D.Lightproof.
22.What is the best title for the text?
A.It Is Difficult to Save the Migrating Birds in US
B.External and Internal Lights Affect Bird Migration
C.Philadelphia Turns out Lights to Save Migrating Birds
D.Lights Out Philly Program Helps Save Endangered Birds
How good are you at maths? Some people love the challenge of algebra or enjoy working out number puzzles such as Sudoko. Maths is all around us, from working out how to split the bill after a meal, to calculating your household bills. But many fear the moment when they have to deal with numbers and figures and feel a real sense of worry and confusion. It can seem depressing, but this “maths anxiety” is perfectly normal, and you’re definitely not alone. And anyway, our worries and fears don’t necessarily reflect our ability.
The problem really starts in childhood, at school. Research has found that maths teachers who are nervous about teaching the subject can pass on their anxiety to the pupils, and girls may be more likely to be affected. The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) found around 31% of 15 and 16-year-olds across 34 countries said they got very nervous while doing maths problems, 33% said they got tense while doing maths homework, and nearly 60% said they worried maths classes would be difficult. Shulamit Kahn, from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, said she believes giving students, particularly girls, good role models is critical, especially at a young age. She thinks the key is to get people, especially women, who love teaching maths to younger children.
Writing for BBC Future, David Robson says “It’s not clear why maths causes so much fear compared to geography. But the fact that there’s a right or wrong answer, there’s no room for bluffing(虚张声势)might make you more worried about underperforming.” And once we suppose were not a “maths person” we avoid solving things that we probably could do.
Psychologists have been trying to work out why mental arithmetic can bring us out in a sweat. That seed of fear may come from many sources, but some suggest that expressing your fears can loosen their hold on you, and encourage children to see a maths test as a challenge, not a threat. In fact, we need to think positively about maths and give it a second chance.
23.What do we know about maths from paragraph 1?
A.It is less useful in our daily life. B.It is a subject that all of us love.
C.The anxiety about it depresses many people. D.The worries about it perfectly reflect our ability.
24.What can happen if teachers are nervous about teaching maths?
A.Their students are certainly not good at maths. B.Their students will love the challenge of algebra.
C.Those teachers will make mistakes in their class. D.Their students will be anxious in learning math.
25.How does the author express maths anxiety as a common world phenomenon in paragraph 2?
A.By listing numbers. B.By giving examples.
C.By making comparisons. D.By explaining definitions.
26.What can we do to get over maths anxiety, according to the text?
A.Avoid solving it. B.Study its source.
C.Do more exercise. D.Adopt a positive attitude to it.

You are walking down a busy street on your way to work. You pass a busker (艺人) playing a song you haven’t heard in years. Suddenly, you’re mentally reliving the first time you heard the song. The music takes you right back to where you were, who you were with and the feelings associated with that memory. This experience is known as a music-evoked autobiographical memory. It’s a common experience and it just comes to mind spontaneously. Amazing, isn’t it?
Research has recently begun to explore the connections between music and evoking memories. First, music tends to accompany many distinctive life events, such as celebrations, graduations, weddings and funerals, so it can play an important role in reconnecting us with these self-defining moments. Music also often arrests our attention, due to the way it affects our minds, bodies and emotions. When music draws our attention, this increases the likelihood that it will be encoded in memory together with details of a life event. And this then means it is able to serve as an effective reminder of this event years later.
Another recent study found that more familiar music evokes more memories and brings memories to mind more subconsciously. And the reason is that we typically reengage with songs more often over our lifetime compared to films, books or TV shows.
Indeed, the power of music to connect us with our past shows how music, memories and emotions are all linked—and it seems certain songs can act as a direct line to our younger selves.
“It seems then that music appears to have the ability to reconnect us with more emotionally positive moments from our pasts. This suggests that using music therapeutically may be particularly fruitful. That will be great news for some patients.” says Kelly Jakubowski, Assistant Professor in Music Psychology, Durham University.

Szczecin, an ancient city in northwestern Poland, has plenty to offer to visitors. Without doubt, the Pomeranian Duke’s Castle and Kasprowicza Park are two of its most popular tourist attractions, but when it comes to online reviews, both pale in comparison to a fat cat named Gacek.
Gacek, whose name means “long-eared bat” in Polish, has nearly 2,600 reviews, more than any other attraction in Szczecin. According to a local woman, Gacek first appeared on Kaszubska Street in downtown Szczecin about 10 years ago. He stuck around and people started feeding him, so from a skinny feline (猫科动物), he soon turned into a thick-fleshed boy, which only made him more adorable. The cat rose to fame in 2020, after a local news site featured it in a video that then went viral on social media, and people have been showering him with positive reviews ever since.
Also known as the “King of Kaszubska Street”, Gacek, the city’s online influencer, now lives in a roofed wooden box outside a shop on Kaszubska Street, and even though he doesn’t technically have an owner, the people who run the shop act as his caretakers. There is a sign outside his house that tells passers-by to leave whatever treats they have for the cat in a sealed (密封的) container and not to pet him when he’s sleeping. Most people who posted a review awarded the feline the maximum 5 stars, making him the top-rated tourist attraction in the city. Most of those who have interacted with Gacek claim that he is a “fantastically handsome and superb fellow”.
But Gacek does have a few one-star reviews, mostly from people who criticize his caretaker or express worry about his weight. Some even complained that he scratched (抓伤) their hands or stole a sausage. “Gacek seems to have become their envy now,” a citizen jokingly commented.
34.Why are the two tourist attractions mentioned?
A.To illustrate the city’s history.
B.To present an online influencer.
C.To display comments on the city.
D.To show their rising popularity.
35.What contributed to Gacek’s sudden fame?
A.His Polish name. B.His past experiences.
C.A featured video. D.A local woman’s care.

C.Many people are envious of his fame.
D.Tourists are not allowed to disturb him.
37.Which word best describes the author’s attitude to Gacek?
A.Sympathetic. B.Worried. C.Objective. D.Favorable.
The atmospheric level of carbon dioxide (CO2)—a gas that is great at trapping heat, contributing to climate change—is almost double what it was prior to the Industrial Revolution. This presents a challenge to researchers attempting to design artificial trees or other methods of capturing (捕获) carbon dioxide directly from the air. That challenge is one a Sandia National Laboratories-led team is trying to solve.
Led by Sandia chemical engineer Tuan Ho, the team has been working on a project using powerful computer models combined with laboratory experiments to study how a kind of clay can take in carbon dioxide and store it. “These fundamental findings have potential for direct-air capture; that is what we’re working toward,” said Ho. “Clay is really inexpensive and rich in nature, which should allow us to reduce the cost of direct-air carbon capture significantly, if this high-risk, high-reward project ultimately leads to a technology. What’s more, it can be used like sponges (海绵) to absorb carbon dioxide, and then the gas will be ‘squeezed’ out of and pumped deep underground.”
Carbon capture and storage is the process of capturing extra carbon dioxide from the Earth’s atmosphere and storing it deep underground with the aim of reducing the impacts of climate change such as more frequent severe storms, rising sea levels and increased droughts and wildfires. This carbon dioxide could be captured from fossil-fuel-burning power plants, or other industrial facilities or directly from the air, which is more technologically challenging. Carbon capture and storage is widely considered one of the least controversial technologies, to deal with climate change.
“We would like low-cost energy, without ruining the environment,” said Susan Rempe, a Sandia bioengineer on the project. “Direct-air carbon capture is important for reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. We can live in a way that doesn’t produce as much carbon dioxide, but unfortunately, we can’t control what our neighbors do.”
38.What problem is presented in paragraph 1?
A.The constant change of atmosphere.
B.The design of artificial trees.
C.The rising amount of carbon dioxide.
D.The storage of carbon dioxide.
39.What does “that” underlined in paragraph 2 refer to?
A.A computer-aided model. B.High-reward investment.
C.Some low-risk technology. D.Clay-based carbon capture.

A.We need joint efforts to reduce carbon release.
B.Carbon dioxide holds the key to air pollution.
C.Human activities have ruined our environment.
D.Our neighboring countries should take the blame.
41.Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A.To Capture Carbon Dioxide or Not?
B.Can Clay Capture Carbon Dioxide?
C.What Carbon Dioxide Can Create
D.How Carbon Dioxide Traps Heat
“What will you do if a person you don’t know wants to give you a ride?” I asked my children. “What if he says Mom is hurt, and you have to come to the hospital with him?” I knew they pretended to listen to me, because I interrupted their TV time.
Here I also want to ask some parents, “Have you ever told your children how to protect themselves?” If you haven’t, I would like to give you four words to help you teach your children how to protect themselves.
No! If a stranger walks to the children, they should keep their distance from the stranger. If the stranger keeps walking to them in a terrible manner, they should run quickly and shout “No!” as loudly as possible.
Go! If the shout does not change the situation, they should run as quickly as possible to a safe place. It is helpful for children to know some safe places such as schools, restaurants and gas stations.
Yell! It means that the children should shout loudly. They can yell out, “Stranger!”
Call! Once they get to a safe place, they should call their parents, teachers or other persons they trust.

Have you ever imagined the life in space? The following will show you the astronauts’ daily life.
Eating in space
If you go camping for more than a week with some friends, you will make sure you have plenty of foods and keep them properly. At the end of your camping trip, you would deal with your rubbish properly before the ride home.
Astronauts almost do the same thing when they go to space. Preparation changes with the food type. Some foods can be eaten in their natural forms, such as chocolate cakes and fruits. Other foods require adding water, such as cheese. Of course, an oven is provided at the space station to heat the food. But there are no fridges, so space food must be kept properly.
Sleeping in space
After a long day at work, nothing is better than a good night’s sleep! Just like on the earth, in space astronauts go to bed at a certain time, then get up and prepare for work again. When going to sleep, they have to attach themselves, so they don’t float (漂浮) around or hit their bodies against something. They usually use sleeping bags located in small crew cabins (乘员舱). Each crew cabin is just big enough for one person. Generally, astronauts have an eight-hour sleep each day when they finish their task.
Doing sports in space
Exercise is an important part of every astronaut’s daily life to prevent muscle loss (肌肉萎缩). Usually, astronauts exercise two hours every day. Lifting 200pounds on the earth may be a lot of work. But lifting that same object in space would be much easier. That means the things for exercise need to be specially designed, so astronauts can receive the exercise needed.
Living in space is not just all work and no play. Astronauts have fun, too. They like to look out the window and play with their food. Fun plays an important role in the quality of their life.
46.Which food can’t be brought to the space?
A.Apples B.Chocolate cakes
C.Ice-cream D.Cheese
47.Why do astronauts play sports in space?
A.To have fun B.To keep healthy
C.To sleep well D.To prevent muscle loss.
48.What’s the passage mainly about?
A.The life in space B.The food in space
C.The work in space D.The sports in space
Do you know that some kinds of foods you are eating every day are harming you slowly? Maybe you have a number of these foods on your menu. Let’s see if you need to start making changes in your diet.
If you have tooth decay (蛀牙) , you should avoid sugar as much as you can to reduce a risk of diabetes, cancers, obesity, heart disease and some other diseases. There are a lot of healthier ways to satisfy you. You can enjoy a bowl of fruit instead of some sweet snacks.
Cooking oil is a necessary part of your cooking. However, it has a high fat content, which can cause cardiovascular disease, obesity, cancers and Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a good idea to choose olive oil, coconut oil or avocado (牛油果) oil.
Alcohol is high in calories, which can cause physical damage, weight gain and skin problems, not to mention the bad decisions you make when you are drunk. Therefore, if you want to damage your system, just believe marketing and drink alcohol daily. Otherwise, avoid it.
Too much carbohydrate can suddenly and greatly increase your blood glucose level, which can speed up the aging process and give you wrinkled (有皱纹的) skin. You’ll age faster and be prone to diabetes, which is a big problem.
If you eat too much salt, you may have high blood pressure which is one of the leading causes of death in the world. However, don’t be too nervous and cut out all salt as your body still needs it. Just limit the amount of salt. 3.75 grams of sodium (钠) per day is a safe amount. Anything that has above 6 grams causes a high risk of heart disease.
49.According to the second paragraph, you’d better to ________ keep healthy.
A.eat fruit instead of snacks
B.eat less cooking oil or salt
C.drink a little alcohol every day
D.enjoy sugar as much as possible

A growing number of people are using ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence (AI) program, to create books for sale. Although sales have so far been slow, human writers are worried that ChatGPT-created books might hurt the writing and publishing industry.
Until recently, Brett Schickler never imagined he could be a published author. But after learning about the ChatGPT AI program, Schickler decided that he had a good chance.
“The idea of writing a book finally seemed possible,” said Schickler, a salesman in Rochester, New York. “I thought ‘I can do this.’”
Using the AI software, Schickler created a 30-page illustrated children’s e-book in a few hours. He offered it for sale in January through Amazon’s self-publishing department. The e-book, which is named The Wise Little Squirrel: A Tale of Saving and Investing, has made Schickler less than $100.
While that may not sound like much, it is enough to make him want to create other books using the software. “I could see people making a whole career out of this,” said Schickler.
There were over 200 e-books in Amazon’s Kindle store as of mid-February that say ChatGPT is a writer or co-writer. And the number is rising daily. But because of the nature of ChatGPT and the fact that many writers didn’t concede that they had used it, it is nearly impossible to get a full count of how many e-books may have been written by AI.
Some professional writers are becoming worried about the effects that ChatGPT could have on the book publishing industry. Mary Rasenberger is the executive director of the Authors Guild, a writer’s group. She said, “This is something we really need to be worried about — these books will flood the market and a lot of authors are going to be out of work.”
55.What can we learn from Schickler’s story?
A.He has always dreamed of becoming a writer.
B.ChatGPT is making writing easier than before.
C.ChatGPT has produced more books than humans.
D.He plans to make a whole career out of writing.
56.What does the underlined word “concede” in paragraph 6 probably mean?
A.Promise. B.Remember. C.Admit. D.Appreciate.
57.Why do professional writers get worried?
A.They may lose their job.
B.ChatGPT will reduce their creativity.
C.People will lose interest in reading books.
D.People will not take writing seriously.
58.What is the best title for the text?
A.ChatGPT Has Become Friends of Authors
B.More People Have Taken Up Writing as a Career
C.AI Technology Is Controlling the Publishing Industry
D.More People Use ChatGPT to Create and Publish Books

Soda has been popular around the world for centuries. But what is the secret behind these bubbles(气泡)? The bubbles in soda is in fact filled with carbon dioxide, or CO2, which is added to carbonated(碳酸的) drinks at high pressures during production.
The history of modern carbonated sodas can date back to English scientist Joseph Priestley, who is called “the father of the soft drinks industry”, for developing a carbonating device in 1772.
At first, bottled carbonated water was used as a kind of medicine. Flavors(味道) were added later—ginger by about 1820, and lemon in the 1830s. In 1886, John Pemberton in Atlanta, Georgia, invented Coca-Cola, the first cola drink.
After soda is filled with carbon dioxide, the gas escapes due to a principle in physical chemistry known as Henry’s law, put forward by British chemist William Henry in 1803. It states that the amount of a gas dissolved(溶解) in a liquid is proportional(成比例的) to the pressure of that same gas in the liquid’s surroundings. When soda is canned or bottled, the space above the drink is usually filled with CO2. Because of Henry’s law and the pressure of the gas trapped at the top of the container, the carbon dioxide that’s dissolved in the drink stays within the liquid.
However, when a soda container is opened, the balance is broken. The pressurized CO2 escapes and produces the symbolic sound one expects to hear from a newly opened soda bottle or can. If a can or bottle has been shaken before it is opened, gas trapped within the liquid can escape to join the gas above the drink. It increases the pressure in the gas above the drink and results in the soda rushing out when the container is opened.
62.How long is the history of modern carbonated sodas?
A.About 250 years. B.About 180 years.
C.About 200 years. D.About 140 years.
63.Why do we fill the space above the drink with CO2 when soda is bottled?
A.To keep the CO2 in the drink from escaping.
B.To produce a chemical reaction.
C.To keep the drink fresh for a long time.
D.To see whether the bottle is broken.
64.Why do we often hear a sound when opening a soda bottle?
A.The pressure outside the bottle is too strong.
B.The cover does match the bottle well.
C.There isn’t a high quality bottle-opener.
D.There is pressurized CO2 in the bottle.
65.Where can the text be found probably?
A.In a storybook. B.In a history book.
C.In a life magazine. D.In an art magazine.
I always have a dream: It’s the end of the semester, and I suddenly realize that there is a lecture I missed. and now I have to sit for the final exam. I wake up panicked, my GPA in danger. How could I have done this? Why? Oh, my God! Then I remember I haven’t been in college for more than a decade.
My old schoolmates might argue that this nightmare scenario is not that far removed from my actual college experience, and that at certain times in my life, it did not take the magic of sleeping to find me completely unprepared for a final. And, regardless of what may or may not be true of my academic accuracy, I suspect the school-stress dream is quite a common one.
My suspicion was confirmed by Deirdre Barrett, a dream researcher at Harvard University. She explained that these dreams tend to pop up when the dreamer is anxious in waking life. Particularly when evaluated by an authority figure. people who wanted to act or play music at an early age tend to experience anxiety dreams not about school, but about auditions — that was where they interacted with the figures who could most easily crush them. In each of these dream scenarios, we revisit the space where we first experienced success or failure based on our performance.
To find out what my specified performance-based anxiety dream means, I went to Jane Anderson, a dream analyst. Although science is undecided about the exact purpose of dreams, what night he behind “that dream scenario, being hack at school and having to take this final, she told me, is,” feeling tested in lie, feeling that you have to respond to other people’s expectations, and feeling that you’re not meeting those expectations. “So you think back to school. So much stuff happens in school that really sets your foundational beliefs and really sticks there in your unconscious mind. It can be very hard to let go of those beliefs,” she said.
66.Why is the author’s dream mentioned in the first paragraph?
A.To analyze reasons. B.To attract readers.
C.To lead into the topic. D.To share the experience.
67.Who is the least likely to have the performance-based anxiety dream?
A.An actor discussed by the fans about his newly released movie.
B.A worker examined by the employer for his work performance.
C.An undergraduate evaluated by the professor for his graduation paper.
D.A teacher assessed by the principal for his teaching achievements.
68.What does Anderson say about the impact of school experiences on people’s life?
A.Various and gradual. B.Lasting and important.
C.Positive but temporary. D.Negative but changeable.
69.What does the text suggest about school-stress dreams?
A.Special medical treatment is required to address the problem.
B.More scientific research is needed to explore the real purpose.
C.They may indicate difficulty or disappointment in real life.
D.They only happen to those with negative school experiences.

【导语】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍的是科学家们为解决宇航员在太空中的饮食问题,致力于在太空中种植农作物,这样太空中的食物种类会增加,宇航员的营养也可以得到保障。
1.推理判断题。根据第一段中的“Astronauts get to experience many interesting attractions.(宇航员可以体验许多有趣的景点。)”可知,宇航员可以体验很多有趣的事情,根据“Sill, food is not one of the interesting parts of being an astronaut. Space travelers have had to eat strange foods. One example is liquid salt and pepper.(不过,食物并不是宇航员最有趣的部分。太空旅行者不得不吃奇怪的食物。其中一个例子就是液态盐和胡椒粉。)”可知,宇航员在太空的食物可不是有趣的体验,根据下文中介绍的太空中宇航员的饮食问题的介绍可知,作者提到太空旅客不得不在太空吃一些奇怪的食物的目的在于引出本文介绍的话题。故选C项。
2.词义猜测题。结合上下文,根据第二段中的“This packaged food is stored for a long time. The quality and taste of the food goes down. In addition, the vitamins in the food start to breakdown. Massa says the astronauts may not get enough nutrition from these foods during long missions.(这种包装食品可以保存很长时间。食物的质量和味道下降了。此外,食物中的维生素开始分解。马萨说,宇航员在长期任务中可能无法从这些食物中获得足够的营养。)”可知,Massa说宇航员在执行长期任务期间可能无法从这些真空包装食物中获得足够的营养,根据第二段划线单词前的“Scientists have been growing lettuce in outer space. The lettuce is just as safe, nutritious(有营养的) and tasty as lettuce grown on Earth Gioia Mass works at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida.(科学家们一直在外太空种植生菜。这种生菜和地球上生长的生菜一样安全、营养丰富、美味可口。焦亚·马斯在佛罗里达州的美国宇航局肯尼迪航天中心工作。)”可知,她对宇航员自己在太空种植的食物是安全有营养的,所以在太空中种植蔬菜对执行长期任务的人来说是“很重要的”,即划线词意为“重要的”。故选A项。

And this then means it is able to serve as an effective reminder of this event years later.(最近有研究开始探索音乐和唤起记忆之间的联系。
