Dear Peter,
How is everything going? I'd like to tell you something about health. I think it contains both physical and mental health. It is important to keep healthy both physically and mentally, and I have some good ways to share with you.
As for physical health, I have kept a good habit of doing exercise for an hour every day no matter how busy I am.I often go running, play basketball or do other exercises. Besides, I also keep a balanced diet. Therefore, I feel energetic every day. I also bear pressures of learning, interpersonal communication and so on. Facing them bravely and finding ways to solve them is what I often do. Everything goes well with me now.
I wonder if you have any idea about health. Could you please tell me something about it?
All the best!
Yours,
Li Hua
I hated changing the vacuum cleaner(真空吸尘器)bag and picking up things the machine did not suck up.(我讨厌更换吸尘器包和捡起机器没有吸起来的东西。) I decided to make a bagless vacuum cleaner.( 我决定做一个无袋吸尘器。)
By the time I made my 15th prototype, my third child was born. By 2,627, my wife and I were really counting our pennies. By 3,727, my wife was giving art lessons for some extra cash, and we were getting further and further into debt. These were tough times可知,戴森在进行吸尘器设计的过程中,经济困难,甚至需要妻子去教授艺术课以贴补家用,即便如此还是负债累累。
The reality was very different, however. The major vacuum makers had built a business model based on the profits from bags and filters(滤网).
Today, I still embrace risk and the potential for failure as part of the process. Nothing beats the excitement of invention. Go out and brainstorm your ideas. You are not bound to any rules—in fact, the stranger and riskier your idea, the better.
But hair loss isn't just a concern for Chinese youth. It is an inconvenient reality for many people in China and the world over.
However, genetic and environmental factors can mean, for some people, these lost hairs won't regrow. In addition, certain factors can further worsen hair loss, including too much stress from work school, too little sleep, and a bad diet. 故选A。
While many of these products make bold promises about their capabilities to restore your hair, the reality is that fixing your hair loss will ultimately depend on finding the specific causes. 故选A。
All they need to do is change unhealthy living habits and pay more attention to their psychological well-being.
根据文章第一段“For years, the conventional wisdom among Silicon Valley futurists was that artificial intelligence and automation indicated doom(厄运) for blue-collar workers whose jobs involved repetitive physical labor(多年来,硅谷未来学家普遍认为,人工智能和自动化会给蓝领工人带来灭顶之灾,因为他们从事的是重复性体力劳动)”可知,传统的人工智能会取代体力劳动。
根据文章第四段“Sarah Drummond, a service designer in London, started using A.I.-generated images a few months ago to replace the black-and-white sketches she did for her job. These were usually basic drawings that visually represented processes she was trying to design improvements for(几个月前,伦敦的服务设计师Sarah Drummond开始使用人工智能生成的图像来取代她为工作绘制的黑白草图。
Drummond, 36, now types what she wants into DALL-E 2 or Midjourney(把她想要的东西输入DALL-E 2或Midjourney)”可知,Sarah Drummond现在开始使用人工智能帮助其画图,而不是传统的手工画图。
故选A。
D“It is a healthy choice that enables you to be happy.(它是一种健康的选择,能让你快乐)”提出有意识的生活还能带来快乐,与上文构成递进关系,句中代词it指代上文中“Conscious (有意识的) living”。故选D项。
上文“Time is the most precious thing because there is no way to live a moment again.(时间是最宝贵的东西,因为没有办法让一个瞬间重来)”分析了时间宝贵的原因,F项“The way you spend your time determines the course of your life.(你如何利用时间,决定了你的人生轨迹)”承接上文,说明利用时间对人生的重意义,照应本段主题“Be conscious about your time.(要意识到你的时间)”,上下文语意连贯一致。故选F项。
设空处是本段标题,根据下文“You cannot achieve them unless you understand your needs and intentions. It is easier said than done because most people fail to make an effort to know themselves. Spend time thinking over and knowing your strengths and weaknesses. Once you know yourself better, you can create a plan to work towards becoming more patient, honest, and forgiving.(除非你了解自己的需求和意图,否则你无法实现这些目标。 故选A项。
上文“Writing a gratitude journal is a good start for counting your blessings.
根据小标题“Believe in yourself.(相信自己)”可知,本段主要讲相信自己,即建立自信,G项“The best way to build self-belief is by reflecting on your own thoughts.(建立自信的最好方法是反思自己的想法)”提出方法,上下语意连贯。故选G项。

Text2
W: What type of exercising are you interested in?

W: Really? What’s that?
M: It’s like snowboarding, you know, going down a mountain on a board, but you have a kite attached to, so you go even faster.
Text3
W: Nicholas, I finally got my driver’s license. I can’t wait to buy my own car.
M: Wow! Congratulations! I’m a little worried that I will fail my driving test next month.
W: Take it easy! I believe you can do it well.
Text4
W: Do you like eating carrots?
M: Yes! They’re one of my favorite vegetables. I love eating them raw, and I often make carrot juice in the morning. What about you?

Text5
M: Hi, Kendra. I’m Tony, Student President of Class 4. Mr. Jones told me to help you on your first day here. Ready for science class?
W: Yeah. It’s nice of you to help me. I’m a little lost. Who’s our teacher?
M: It’s Ms. Green. And our class is right here.
Text6
W: Work? In the future? Well, I think as companies get more computerized, they’re finding ways of using fewer workers.
M: Yeah. And more and more people will be working at home because of computers.
W: Wow, I’d really love that. Can you imagine spending most of your work week in the comfort of your own home?
M: Personally, I would have freer timetable and get much more done. And with emails and phone calls you can still keep in touch with everyone you need to.
W: Well, I’m afraid I might just sit back and turn on the TV!
Text7
W: You’re hungry, aren’t you?
M: How could you tell?
W: You have that look on your face like you’re about to get mad for no reason.
M: Yeah, it’s easy to lose your temper when you’re tired or hungry.
W: What happened to your sandwich?
M: It’s still in the refrigerator at school. I never got to eat it.
W: What happened?
M: The fire alarm went off. We all had to go out of the building and wait for an hour. We didn’t miss any classes because it was at noon, but we missed all of lunch.
W: Oh, no. Well, I made some cookies. Want one?
M: Of course.
Text8
W: Hello, Mr. Thompson. Miss Lennon said you wanted to speak to me.
M: Yes, Sarah. And your work is suffering. Is something on your mind?
W: Yes, I do feel a little bit sad.
M: Why is that? Is the schoolwork too hard for you or is there a problem at home?
W: No, no… it’s Tony. Tony was my cat. He was lost last week. He was my best friend.
M: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I know how that feels — and getting a new cat doesn’t always help.
W: I couldn’t do that.
M: Sarah, I’m going to give you a little book to read. It’s called Coping with Loss, and it might help you deal with your feelings.
W: OK, and I will try to focus on my lessons.
Text9
W: Thanks for driving me around.
M: Don’t mention it. I have time today, and I think it’s important that you find a good place.
W: It would be not easy for me to do it. I am not familiar with the city.
M: So what do you see in there?
W: A flat with a view of the lake, next to a big supermarket, including electrical equipment and parking. A modern furnished kitchen, $470.
M: Can you afford that?
W: No, I guess not. But that’s what I want.
M: Yes, a flat usually has one large room, a small bathroom and a small kitchen. So it’s good for one person.
W: This one. Two girls are seeking a roommate. Comfortable downtown apartment. Does this mean I have to share a room with them?
M: No. It probably means they have a large apartment. Probably a living room, kitchen and three bedrooms. They need someone for the empty bedroom.
W: Sounds good to me. I really appreciate your help on this.
M: My pleasure. What are friends for anyway?
