Kindness comes in many forms. That thought is behind the new website, A Gift of Kindness, which promotes sharing stories of good deeds, all in memory of Captain Sir, Tom Moore, who passed away at the age of 100.
Being a hero of the Covid-19 pandemic, Moore decided to raise money for the National Health Services(NHS) in England. On April 6,2020, at the age of 99, Moore promised to raise £1,000 by his 100th birthday. In the course of 24 days, Moore made media appearances and became a beloved popular figure, attracting more than 1.5 million individual donations. Finally, Moore raised £32.79 million for the NHS.
Now, Moore's family is making his spirit a lasting effect by building a website called A Gift of Kindness. The idea came to Sir Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore while she was eating with her family around the dinner table on a recent evening, according to The Washington Post. They were discussing how Moore's fans continued to send warm wishes.
Since the website started on December 8,2022, thousands of entries have poured in. Ingram-Moore picks each one and posts some of them to the site. “The website passes on Moore’s spirit serving as a message board for telling stories of kindness, and sharing joy and hope with others by recalling any small gift of kindness towards you or someone you know and how that feels,” the website states. “This has traveled across the Atlantic,” Ingram-Moore said in The Washington Post. The stories emphasize that “the things we do every day have a huge impact”.
“While my father is deeply missed by me and his grandchildren, so much of our life is devoted to making sure that his spirit lives on,” Ingram-Moore continued. “We call ourselves Team Tom.”

Ibu Soraya works with vulnerable(弱势的) children in Indonesia, and has been a Primero user since 2019.“As a case worker, I'm often worried about all the cases that come in a short time,” she says. “In the past, when I was still writing everything down, I sometimes forgot information. Working far away from the office, I found it difficult to check records. Primero, especially the mobile app, makes it easier to manage cases. I can check my notes at any time. I can also immediately continue to handle new cases.”
In Indonesia, Primero was started in mid-2019 and has been in service in 32 out of 111 areas with child welfare(福利) services nationwide.
Astrid Gonzaga Dionisio, a UNICEF Indonesia Child Protection specialist, explains that it has been hugely useful in the COVID-19 response to have Primero in place. “Primero is not just a digital tool. It also helps governments think through their protection policies for vulnerable children. It provides UNICEF with a chance of supporting our government partners with the needed changes in protection measures for vulnerable children at the policy level.”
In Cambodia, despite the ongoing COVID-19, the Ministry of Social Affairs tried the app in April 2020. Toconnect government case workers with existing service providers, the technology acts as a bridge between them.Using the app which allows different systems to “talk” to each other, the Cambodia teams are able to build this bridge. This means that children now benefit from safe and secure information sharing between government and local non-governmental organizations, faster response times and more organizational responsibility. During COVID-19, when many front-line case workers are forced to do their professional duties remotely, Primero means better coordination(协作) and fewer children remaining uncovered.
“Primero allows us to build better protection systems in Cambodia. It lets us work across organizations, while managing all kinds of child protection cases,” says Suman Khadka, a UNICEF Cambodia Child Protection specialist.

The causes and effects of plastic pollution are truly everywhere.
Several million tons of rubbish end up in the world's ocean every year, and much of it is improperly dropped plastic litter.
In the ocean, plastic pollution can kill the ocean animals directly through entanglement(缠住) in objects, and it can also kill them because of being mistaken for food. Studies have found that all kinds of species, both small and large, easily take plastic bits. Sunlight and seawater crack plastic, and the final breakdown of larger objects into microplastic makes plastic available to the small ocean animals. Such small pieces of plastic, which are less than 5 mm in length, make up a sizable part of plastic waste in the ocean by the movement of deep-sea currents(水流), which is creating microplastic “hot spots” in parts of the ocean.
There is also plastic pollution on land. Drainage systems become blocked with plastic bags and other items.Land birds have been found with plastic in their stomachs, and animals that normally feed in dumps—for example, the sacred cows of India—have had intestinal(肠的) blockages from plastic packaging. In addition, wind-transported microplastic has been found in many parts of the world, including the snow on high mountains, on Aretic beaches, sea ice and in Antarctica.
Given the global scale of plastic pollution, using more money on removing plastic items from the environment would not be considered. Most solutions to the problem of plastic pollution, therefore, focus on preventing improper disposal(处理) or even on limiting the use of certain plastic items in the first place. Fines for littering have proved difficult to be carried out, but various fees on plastic shopping bags are common, as is exchanging for new things by taking bottles to recycling centers. Awareness of the serious results of plastic pollution is increasing, and new solutions, including the increasing use of biodegradable plastics and a “zero waste” idea, are being accepted by governments and the public.

第一节 (满分15分)
(一)评分原则
1.本题总分为15分，按5个档次给分。
2.评分时，先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量、确定或调整档次，最后给分。
3.词数少于60或多于100的，从总分中减去2分。
4.评分时，应注意的主要内容为：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的丰富性和准确性及上下文的连贯性。
5.拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。
6.若书写较差以致影响交际，将分数降低一个档次。

Kindness comes in many forms. That thought is behind the new website, A Gift of Kindness, which promotes sharing stories of good deeds, all in memory of Captain Sir, Tom Moore, who passed away at the age of 100.
Being a hero of the Covid-19 pandemic, Moore decided to raise money for the National Health Services(NHS) in England. On April 6,2020, at the age of 99, Moore promised to raise £1,000 by his 100th birthday. In the course of 24 days, Moore made media appearances and became a beloved popular figure, attracting more than 1.5 million individual donations. Finally, Moore raised £32.79 million for the NHS.
Now, Moore's family is making his spirit a lasting effect by building a website called A Gift of Kindness. The idea came to Sir Tom's daughter Hannah Ingram-Moore while she was eating with her family around the dinner table on a recent evening, according to The Washington Post. They were discussing how Moore's fans continued to send warm wishes.
Since the website started on December 8,2022, thousands of entries have poured in. Ibu Soraya works with vulnerable(弱势的) children in Indonesia, and has been a Primero user since 2019.“As a case worker, I'm often worried about all the cases that come in a short time,” she says. “In the past, when I was still writing everything down, I sometimes forgot information. Working far away from the office, I found it difficult to check records. Primero, especially the mobile app, makes it easier to manage cases. I can check my notes at any time. In Indonesia, Primero was started in mid-2019 and has been in service in 32 out of 111 areas with child welfare(福利) services nationwide.
Astrid Gonzaga Dionisio, a UNICEF Indonesia Child Protection specialist, explains that it has been hugely useful in the COVID-19 response to have Primero in place. “Primero is not just a digital tool. It also helps governments think through their protection policies for vulnerable children. It provides UNICEF with a chance of supporting our government partners with the needed changes in protection measures for vulnerable children at the policy level.”
In Cambodia, despite the ongoing COVID-19, the Ministry of Social Affairs tried the app in April 2020. Toconnect government case workers with existing service providers, the technology acts as a bridge between them.Using the app which allows different systems to “talk” to each other, the Cambodia teams are able to build this bridge. This means that children now benefit from safe and secure information sharing between government and local non-governmental organizations, faster response times and more organizational responsibility. During COVID-19, when many front-line case workers are forced to do their professional duties remotely, Primero means better coordination(协作) and fewer children remaining uncovered.

The causes and effects of plastic pollution are truly everywhere.
Several million tons of rubbish end up in the world's ocean every year, and much of it is improperly dropped plastic litter.
In the ocean, plastic pollution can kill the ocean animals directly through entanglement(缠住) in objects, and it can also kill them because of being mistaken for food. Studies have found that all kinds of species, both small and large, easily take plastic bits. Sunlight and seawater crack plastic, and the final breakdown of larger objects into microplastic makes plastic available to the small ocean animals. Such small pieces of plastic, which are less than 5 mm in length, make up a sizable part of plastic waste in the ocean by the movement of deep-sea currents(水流), which is creating microplastic “hot spots” in parts of the ocean.
There is also plastic pollution on land. Drainage systems become blocked with plastic bags and other items.Land birds have been found with plastic in their stomachs, and animals that normally feed in dumps—for example, the sacred cows of India—have had intestinal(肠的) blockages from plastic packaging. In addition, wind-transported microplastic has been found in many parts of the world, including the snow on high mountains, on Aretic beaches, sea ice and in Antarctica.
Given the global scale of plastic pollution, using more money on removing plastic items from the environment would not be considered. Most solutions to the problem of plastic pollution, therefore, focus on preventing improper disposal(处理) or even on limiting the use of certain plastic items in the first place. 新高考写作的评分细则
第一节 (满分15分)
(一)评分原则
1.本题总分为15分，按5个档次给分。
2.评分时，先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量、确定或调整档次，最后给分。
3.词数少于60或多于100的，从总分中减去2分。
4.评分时，应注意的主要内容为：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的丰富性和准确性及上下文的连贯性。
5.拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。
6.若书写较差以致影响交际，将分数降低一个档次。
(二)各档次的给分范围和要求
第五档(13~15分)
——完全完成试题规定的任务。
——覆盖所有内容要点。
——应用较多的语法结构和词汇。
——语法结构或词汇方面有些许错误，但为尽力使用较复杂结构或较高级词汇所致；具备较强的语言运用能力。
——有效地使用语句间的连接成分，使全文结构紧凑。
——完全达到预期的写作目的。
第四档(10~12分)
——完全完成试题规定的任务。
——虽漏掉1~2个次重点，但覆盖所有主要内容。
——应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
——语法结构或词汇方面应用基本准确，些许错误主要是因尝试较复杂的语法结构或词汇所致。
——使用简单的语句间连接成分，使全文结构紧凑。
——达到预期的写作目的。
第三档(7~9分)
——基本完成试题规定的任务。
——虽漏掉一些内容，但覆盖所有主要内容。
——应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。
——有一些语法结构或词汇方面的错误，但不影响理解。
——使用简单的语句间连接成分，使全文内容连贯。
——整体而言，基本达到预期的写作目的。
第二档(4~6分)
——未适当完成试题规定的任务。
——漏掉或未描述清楚一些主要内容，写了一些无关内容。
——语法结构单调，词汇项目有限。
——有一些语法结构或词汇方面的错误，且影响对写作内容的理解。
——较少使用语句间的连接成分，内容缺乏连贯性。
——信息未能清楚地传达给读者。
第一档(1~3分)
——未完成试题规定的任务。
——明显漏掉主要内容，写了一些无关内容，原因可能是未理解试题的要求。
——语法结构单调，词汇项目有限。
——较多语法结构或词汇方面的错误，且影响对写作内容的理解。
——缺乏语句间的连接成分，内容不连贯。
——信息未能传达给读者。
0分
——未能传达给读者任何信息：内容太少，无法评判；所写内容均与所要求内容无关或所写内容无法看清。
第二节 (满分25分)
(一)评分原则

(2)内容的丰富性和关键信息的利用情况；
(3)应用语法结构和词汇的丰富性和准确性；
(4)上下文的连贯性。
5.拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个重要方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。
6.若书写较差以致影响交际，可将分数降低一个档次。
(二)各档次的给分范围和要求
第五档(21~25分)
——与所给短文融洽度高，与所提供的各段落开头语衔接合理。
——内容丰富，利用了文中的关键信息。
——所使用语法结构和词汇丰富、准确，可能有些许错误，但完全不影响意义表达。
——有效地使用语句间的连接成分，使所续写短文结构紧凑。
第四档(16~20分)
——与所给短文融洽度较高，与所提供的各段落开头语衔接较为合理。
——内容比较丰富，基本利用了文中的关键信息。
——所使用语法结构和词汇较为丰富、准确，可能有些许错误，但不影响意义表达。
——比较有效地使用语句间的连接成分，使所续写的短文结构紧凑。
第三档(11~15分)
——与所给短文关系较为密切，与所提供的各段落开头语有一定程度的衔接。
——写出了若干有关内容，部分利用了文中的关键信息。
——应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求，虽有一些错误，但不影响意义表达。
——使用简单的语句间连接成分，使全文内容连贯。
第二档(6~10分)
——与所给短文有一定的关系，与所提供的各段落开头语有一定程度的衔接。
——写出了一些有关内容，较少利用文中的关键信息。
——语法结构单调，词汇项目有限，有语法结构和词汇方面的错误，且影响了意义的表达。
——较少使用语句间的连接成分，全文内容缺少连贯性。
第一档(1~5分)
——与所提供短文和开头语的衔接较差。
——写出的内容较少，很少利用文中的关键信息。
——语法结构单调，词汇项目很有限，有较多语法结构和词汇方面的错误，严重影响了意义的表达。
