Part 1 Analysis
- Analysis of the teaching material
The topic part is the beginning of unit 2 Sports and Fitness. Several categories ranging from athletes, varieties, benefits to conditions will be covered. Listening and speaking takes up large percent. And the text builder part is used to make our speaking more logical, organized and effective. The listening materials can give us lots of inspiration on how to talk about the given topic, which of course can also improve our listening skills. Quotes in this part,if used in our speaking and writing can make our ideas more powerful and convincing.
Part 2 Analysis of the students
Students have some interest in this topic and are equipped with some knowledge concerning this topic;
Students may struggle to talk about the rules of the game/sports;
Part 3 Teaching aims
- Students can talk about and write centering on sports and fitness logically by virtue of the expressions and the skills we have learned or discussed
- Students can grasp some useful ways to keep fit and offer others around them some suggestions to keep fit.
- Students can feel the fruit and satisfaction of group work

How to help students talk about and write centering on sports and fitness logically by virtue of the expressions and the skills we have learned or discussed
Part 5 Teaching procedure
Step 1 Lead-in (by pictures)
Pictures from the sports meeting held recently to lea in to the topic of the unit
Step 2 Brainstorm(individual work)
Brainstorm words related to the topic Sports and Fitness
Step 3 Discussion (group work)
Divide the students into four groups to discuss the following aspects respectively
athletes/varieties/rules/benefits
Step 4 Text builder
Learn the text builder together to grasp the structure
Then listen to the dialogue to consolidate the structure
Step 5 Speaking and sharing
use the structure and skills to talk about what students do to keep fit
Step 6 Homework
Write a letter to our headmaster to express your inner voice about how to improve our fitness on campus and offer some constructive(建设性的) advice.
Step 7 Experiencing
Let students experience a gymnastics to feel the charm of exercise
