T plays a video of a lady playing the qin in the street of France in class.2. T leads Ss to talk about the video by answering the following three questions: What kind does High Mountains and Flowing Water belong to? (It belongs to the classical Chinese music.) What does the foreigners react to the music? (Many foreigners can understand and enjoy it.)3. T guides the Ss to conclude that nouns and pronouns can be used as subjects and objects and that music is the universal language.4. T leads Ss to talk about the video by answering the following three questions:引导学生朗读下面两个句子初步归纳出动词-ing形式做主语和宾语并了解本单元主题通用语言这一概念。(1)  Many foreigners are interested in playing the qin.(2)  Showing the qin in front of the foreigners made us very proud.【设计意图:开门见山,引出本文主题——欣赏优美的古典音乐;同时,学生会发现中国的传统文化在国外也很流行。通过总结视频引出语法话题——利用古典音乐主题创设情境,铺垫语法结构。】Step 2 PresentationBefore Boya met Ziqi1.T asks Ss to read to find what happened before Boya met Ziqi and fill in the blanks.(1)  Listening to Boya's music ________(be) a kind of enjoyment.(2)  Playing qin _______(be) his life.(3)  ________(listen) to Boya’s music was worthwhile. (4)  ________ was worthwhile listening to Boya’s music.2. T asks Ss to explore the grammatical rules that when v-ing is subject, the verb is in the singular and the subject can be replaced by it.3. Ss are required to finish a micro writing about the advantages of listening to Chinese traditional music using the rules above.微写作:在我的空闲时间,听中国传统音乐是我的最爱。听音乐能使我冷静和放松。欣赏音乐能让生活更美好。因此,花点时间听音乐还是很有价值的。When Boya met Ziqi1.T have the Ss answer the question “Why did Boya think of Ziqi as his confidant(知己)? and Ss may give the following answers.(1)  Boya didn’t say anything before playing the qin, yet ...(2)  When Boya continued playing, Zhong Ziqi said ...(3)  From then on, Boya never got tired of sharing his music.2. T asks Ss to explore the grammatical rules that v-ing can be used as objective after verb, preposition.3. Ss are required to do a role-play helping foreigners to better understand Chinese traditional music.Role-play:假如你的同桌是一名外国友人,他想了解中国的传统音乐,请你给他提供一些建议。After Ziqi’s death1. T asks Ss to answer the question “What happened after Zhong Ziqi’s death?” and choosing the proper expressions to fill in the blanks.  (1)  Boya was curious about __________ as expected.(2)  ____________made Boya very sad.(3)  ____________ with sorrow made him destroy his qin.(4)  People was shocked by ___________his qin.2. T asks Ss to explore the form of ones doing.3. Ss are required to fill the blanks using the rules learned just now.I’m looking forward to watching ________(play) the piano.However, _______ (succeed) in watching the concert made me upset because of ________ (delay) by the traffic.【设计意图:该设计将文本素材和语法知识有机结合,通过阅读文本,理解文本来完成语法知识体系的建构,并通过语段填空、语篇填空到构建开放的语篇,由浅入深将语法规则、语言素材、音视频素材、主题情境、真实任务、表情达意进行整合统一,使学生真正获得动词-ing做主语和宾语的语用能力。Step 3. Practice1. Ss are asked to think of a question Why did Boya destroy his qin?.2. T asks Ss to read the passage on P21 and fill the blanks using the grammatical rules learned just now.If you have to choose music from the Earth to send into space, what music do you think is capable of __________ (represent) mankind? …(详见课本第21页)Step 4. Consolidation1. T asks Ss to talk about how can make more foreigners to know more about Chinese traditional culture using 设计意图围绕单元主题(通用语言)和语篇主题(中国传统文化故事---伯牙遇知音),整体设计动词-ing做主语和宾语的操练任务:在主题意义层面,从伯牙用音乐这一通用语言与子期进行交流,到人类利用音乐与外太空智慧生命进行交流,主题意义完整;在语法运用层面,由在熟悉的、简单的语境中初步感知动词-ing做主语和宾语,理解语法规则,逐渐过渡到在不熟悉的、较为复杂的真实语篇情境中综合深度应用动词-ing做主语和宾语。】V. Homework1. 完成写作,写作话题为假如你是李华,请向你的英国朋友Peter推荐中国传统音乐”;2. 复习所学知识;3. 欣赏更多的中国传统音乐。
