I’m Li Hua. I am writing to ask you to do me a favor. I’ll participate in an English speech contest with the title “Charming China”. I’ve finished my speech draft, but I find it far from satisfactory.

Paragraph 1:

The next thing I knew was that I was falling down quickly. My heart was pounding as I hit the side of the wall. My ears rang and my head spun with the sudden impact. My fingers were bleeding and I scraped (擦伤) my ankles. Fortunately, the helmet I was wearing saved me from seriously hurting myself. As I was fighting to grab hold of any notch on the wall to recover my balance, wild thoughts began flashing through my mind. I was scared that I might crash to the ground and die.

Paragraph 2:

Fortunately, Priscilla came to the rescue just in time. She securely held on to the safety rope and encouraged me to keep going. She knew that I wanted to reach the top of the wall more than anything. When I finally succeeded in my quest, she used the safety rope to lower me gently to the ground. I had been so wrong about Priscilla’s personality. I felt ashamed of my malicious thoughts of her. She was really a kind-hearted person. From that moment forward, we became best friends.
