And when we do, we tend to reach for junk food or other comforting but unhealthy foods. Unfortunately, this doesn't solve emotional problems. In fact, emotionally eating lots of food with little nutritional value can weaken our immune systems（免疫系统）and worsen our moods.
Eva Selhub, a doctor who specializes in stress and medicine for the body and mind, says
that if we want to feel better, we need to fuel our bodies in ways that reduce stress. But eating processed foods runs counter to what we expect. She added, "Not only does the original emotional issue remain, but you also feel guilty for overeating. The foods themselves can increase tiredness, anxiety, and depression." Mixing these problems, you stop learning healthier ways to deal with your emotions , and you feel increasingly powerless against both food and your feelings.
