We talk about our work, the weather, and whatever else is 38 in our lives. It’s nice to check in with her and see how she’s doing. And of course, I try to visit home 39 . About once every other year, I’ll fly back to the US to see my parents and sisters for the holidays.

The space city is like a huge wheel, a tube (管子) more than 150 metres in diameter (直径), and formed into a ring. The wheel turns around slowly every minute, 45 the people in space feel the pull of gravity just like we do on Earth.
The space city would always have sunlight. A(n) 46 mirror about two kilometres in diameter would float above the city. It would reflect (反射) 47 to small mirrors that would lead it into the city. Shutters (百叶窗) would be used to 48 when sunlight comes in. It would be closed to create night-time.
The 49 of the city could be fixed at about 10,000 people. Farmers would be able to 50 plan how much food would be needed for this number of people. About 44 square metres of vegetable plants would be needed for each person, and just over five square metres of grassland.

What if you have big feelings? Just manage your emotions (情绪) as follows.
Step 1. Remind yourselves that it is never okay to hurt others.
It is important to know what is acceptable and what is not for others. You should not hurt others, including hurting them with words.
Step 2. Take three deep breaths or count slowly to 10.
You need to understand big feelings are very normal but your actions caused by these feelings will bring results. Taking a few deep breaths or slowly counting to 10 can give you time to realize your body’s warning signs—whether you have a tense (紧绷的) body or clenched (咬紧的) teeth.
Step 3. Use your words to say how you feel and what you wish would happen.
Saying what you wish for helps you open a problem-solving conversation. Of course, your wish won’t always be an acceptable solution for all parties but you can work out a more peaceful solution together with whom you are angry.
Step 4. Ask for help to solve the problem.
It is okay to ask for help when you don’t feel that you can solve the problem alone. Asking your parents or teachers for advice may help you find better ways.
Step 5. Take the time you need to calm down.
Sometimes you may still feel angry or upset even having worked through each of the above steps. In these situations, it is often better to walkaway or to find another safe way to deal with those feelings. Several days later, you may not feel as strongly about what happened.
63. What should be done when we are dealing with our emotions?
A. Telling others about the problem. B. Hiding our feelings from others.
C. Hurting other people by words. D. Getting close to others every time.
64. What does Step 2 tell us?
A. Only angry people have big feelings. B. Unhealthy people easily become angry.
C. It is normal for people to feel angry. D. Numbers can make people comfortable.
65. What should you do if your emotions are still there after you have tried steps 1-4?
A. The problem is too serious for you to solve.
B. There is no safe way left to solve the problem.
C. You have to find the warning signs in your body.
D. Time may help you calm down and be peaceful again.
66. In which part of a newspaper can we find the text?
A. Sports. B. Travel. C. Business. D. Health.
D

“This is part of our artificial intelligence (AI) courses,” said the 10th grader from Beijing 101 Middle School. The school provides AI classes to both junior and senior high school students. Apart from compulsory (必修的) courses that teach basic knowledge, there are also optional (选修的) courses if students want to learn more.

In fact, having AI education in schools has become a growing trend (趋势) in many places, especially in Zhejiang Province. In 2020, Zhejiang added AI education into textbooks from Grade 5 in primary school all the way to senior high. In the city of Wenzhou, the government is planning to build 10AI experimental schools by 2025.

In the future, there will be more jobs where AI knowledge is required. Even in daily life, people may need to understand things like ChatGPT and the Internet of things (物联网).”

On April 7, a Chinese musician played a famous piece of music on the guqin. Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron listened to the guqin music “High Mountain and Flowing Water” at Baiyun Hall of the Pine Garden in Guangzhou.
As a part of the Chinese zither (弹拨乐器) family, guqin has a history of over 3,000 years. Fuxi, a legendary ancestor (祖先) of the Chinese nation, is believed by many to be the inventor of the guqin.
A story about the guqin has been around for centuries in China. During the Spring and Autumn Period, there lived a great musician called Boya. He was very good at playing it.
One day, Boya traveled by boat. He was excited to see green mountains and clear water. He took up the qin and began to play. The music became more and more beautiful. A man called Zhong Ziqi on the bank cheered. Boya invited him to the boat and played the qin for him. Boya played to show his love for the mountains. Ziqi said, “Wow, it seems that the mountains are just before my eyes.” Boya then played another one. Ziqi said, “I seem to see the flowing river.”
Ziqi could understand his music so well and they became good friends. They made a plan to meet again at the same place the next year. The next year, Boya was told Ziqi was dead. He was very sad. After playing the music of High Mountains and Flowing Water, he broke the qin and never played again. He said, “Since Ziqi is gone, who should I play for?” Their story has become a tale of friendship.
70. According to the passage, who is believed to be the inventor of the guqin?
A. Zhong Ziqi. B. Bo Ya. C. Shennong. D. Fuxi.
71. What can we learn from Ziqi’s words in Paragraph 4?
A. Bo Ya played between the mountain and the river.
B. The sound of the nature also flew into Ziqi’s ears.
C. Ziqi lost himself in the beauty of great music.
D. Ziqi encouraged Bo Ya to continue his practice.
72. Why did Bo Ya break the qin and never play again at last?
A. He was too old to play well. B. He lost Ziqi who understand his music best.
C. He needed a new guqin. D. He was so sad about his friend’s absence.

Years ago, I was on a train ride when I noticed a family getting on board. There were two little girls, their mom, and her friend, all of them with big bags. From what it looked like, they were going to be away for several days. One of the girls sat next to an older gentleman, who started talking with her.
As the train ride went on, the little girl said that they were on their way to the children’s hospital in the city, where her sister Hayley was receiving treatment. Without asking more about it, the man spoke with the girls on and off during the journey. Towards the end of the ride, the man started writing something on a piece of paper. As the train stopped at his station, he walked over to the girl’s mom and handed her a check saying. “That’s for Hayley.” Then he got off the train before anyone had a chance to thank him.
The mom was puzzled (迷惑不解的) at first. After seeing the check, she felt thankful for what he had done. She looked up, hoping to catch the man before he disappeared from view, but he was already gone.
The moment left a lasting impression on me. It reminded me that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day. It also made me wonder about the man’s story and what led him to do this for strangers on a train.
