教学目标:
1. 谈论规则 2. 祈使语气 3. 表示允许 4. 能够用口头或书面描述规则
教学重点和难点:
重点掌握祈使语气的用法,包括表示规则的句型,表示允许的Can及其当情态动词must;以及各种可以用在表述规章制度的动词和句型。难点在于情态动词的用法,以及祈使句与它的应答。
Language goals

● Talk about rules.

Expressions | Don’t eat in class. Don’t listen to music in the classroom or the hallways. Don’t arrive late for class. You must be on time. Don’t fight. Don’t run in the hallway. |
Structures | What are the rules ? Don’t run in the hallways. Don’t arrive late for class. We can’t eat in the classrooms. We must eat in the dining hall. |
Teaching procedures
Step 1: Warming up
- A student is late for class. Teacher says: Don’t arrive late for class. You must be on time. Because this is our school rule.
2. Talk about school rules.
Step 2: Lead-in
1.Students work in pairs, ask and answer about school rules.
A:What are the rules?
B: Don’t arrive late for class. You must be on time.
2.Show photos of school rules. Ask students say these are our school rules.
Ask students: What are the school rules? Help students to translate some rules in English. For example:
Don’t arrive late for class.
Don’t run in the hallways.
Don’t listen to music in class.
Don’t fight with others.
3.Let students read the rules loudly.
Step 3: Practicing
Activity 1
Ask students to say out their school rules or class rules as many as possible.
Activity 2
Ask students to tell other rules to the class.
For example: Don’t watch TV too late.
Activity 3 (1a)
Focus students’ attention to the picture in 1a. Ask students:
What are the students doing in the picture?
Is that good for the team to do that?
What do you want to say to them?
Help students answer. For example:
Don’t eat in class.
Don’t listen to music in class.
- Focus attention on the five rules written under “school rules”. Let students read all the rules aloud and help them know their meanings.
- Students work individually. Which rules are these students breaking? Write the number of the rule next to the student.
Step 4: Listening
1.Point to the instructions and names in 1b. Read it to the class. Ask students to listen carefully. Pay attention to what rules these students are breaking.
2.Play the recording the first time. Students listen and write the numbers after the names.
Tapescript Ms Clark: Hey, Peter. You know the rules. Don’t run in the hallways. Peter: Sorry, Ms Clark. Mr Smith: Selina, don’t eat in class. Nick: Oh, sorry, Mr Smith. Mr Smith: Hey, Nick. Don’t listen to music in class, Nick. Boy 1: He can’t hear you, Mr Smith. |

Step 5 Task
- We talk about school rules . Don’t arrive late . We can be on time . We must be on time.

- Play a game . Have a competition between boys and girls.
Choose your favorite number and do an exercise , you can get marks.

教学反思:
任务型课程的设计要自始至终体现任务的要求与特点,尤其要确保任务的设计与完成是从简单重复逐步过渡到真实或接近真实。基于这一要求与特点,本课的四个任务先以谈论有关学校各项规章制度为话题,初步感受祈使句,以及如何表达规则;然后听(通过听那些能做、哪些不能做的事儿,体会情态动词can和can’t的用法)、认(通过认图标,说出规则,并把说出的规则写下来),最后根据常识或观察, 为班级制定规章制度或使用规则。这样,通过完成这一系列任务,既使学生学会了如何描述规章制度,又渗透了对学生的情感教育:通过对班级制定规章制度, 培养学生遵守规则的美德。同时,学生还可以学会发散思维,以扩展知识;口头及书面表达能力也可随之提高。
不足之处:图标展示得不够;还可通过图标渗透中外文化差异。
可取之处:全方位的训练了学生的听、说、读、写的能力。
