    I have many gd friends in Canada,thugh Canadian culture is different frm Chinese culture.
    My name is Wu Zhu. I have lived in Canada fr twenty­three years. In Canada,I call myself Je Wu. Je is an English name that sunds like Zhu.
    Thugh I have lived here fr a lng time,I still dn′t feel Canadian. This is prbably because Nrth American manners and Chinese manners are s different. 
    In China,being mdest is a virtue. If smene praises yu and says that yur English is excellent,yu shuld be mdest and say,“N,n. My English is still pr.” But in Nrth America,this is usually a sign f being weak and nt cnfident. Yu shuld just say,“Thank yu.” 
    In Canada,peple nly ask children abut their age. It′s nt plite t ask an adult′s age. They think it is private. But this is cmmn in many places in China.   In bth China and Nrth America,it is plite t ffer an elderly persn a seat n the bus. In Nrth America,hwever,an elderly persn may feel embarrassed abut being ffered a seat.
      When Chinese peple eat ut in restaurants,they may take turns paying fr the meal. In Canada,hwever,peple ften share the cst f a meal. In China,if yur guests have n fd n their plates,it's plite t put fd n their plates.In Canada,yu pass fd t guests,but yu dn′t usually put fd n their plates.
      In China,peple seldm give extra mney t waiters,waitresses,taxi drivers r htel wrkers. In Nrth America,this is always dne. It is called “tipping”.  It′s interesting t experience tw different cultures. I think understanding cultural differences really helps us t understand each ther,live tgether and wrk tgether.
