1. Read and answer the questions.

本句是反意疑问句,反意疑问句的特点是“前肯后否”或“前否后肯”。
We can’t take books out, can we?我们不能把书带出去,对吗?
反意疑问句的用法
反意问句要点三,前后谓语正相反;
附加问句not现,必须缩写是习惯;
最后一点应注意,问句主语代词换。
2. humorous adj.有幽默感的;滑稽有趣的
humor(n.幽默)+ous→humorous adj.有幽默感的
He is a humorous man. 他是一个幽默的人。
3. silent adj.不说话的;沉默的
silent adj.沉默的→silence(n.沉默)
Tom seems silent today. What’s the matter? 汤姆今天似乎很沉默,怎么了?
4. helpful adj. 有用的;有帮助的
help(n.帮助)+ful→helpful adj.有帮助的
The book is really helpful.这本书真的很有用。
5. It’s been three years since we last saw our primary school classmates.
(1)“It’s been + 一段时间 + since + 从句”意为“自从……以来已经有多长时间了”,还可表示为“It is + 一段时间+ since + 从句”。
It’s been five years since I began to learn English.
=It is five years since I began to learn English.
自从我开始学英语以来已经有5年的时间了。
(2) since 此处用作连词,意为“自从;自……以来”。
since后接从句,该从句用一般过去时,主句常用完成时。
She has taught us English since I came to this school.
自从我来到这所学校她就教我们英语。
since还可用作介词,意为“自从……以来”,后接表示时间点的词语。
