    Section B (3a-Self Check) 5课时

    设计说明

    首先通过几张关于中国风俗习惯的照片, 告诉学生一些中国的风俗习惯, 由此导入对本课时的学习; 接下来创设情境, 让学生自己思考并提出一些风俗习惯方面的建议; 然后就Table mannersHouse rulesGoing out with people给出学生较为充足的表达, 为之后的写作环节提供较为充分的素材, 学生通过3a对这些素材进行梳理, 并在3b给出的框架的基础上完成介绍中国风俗的信, 从而最后能够写出一封向外国朋友介绍中国文化习俗的信; 最后通过Self Check部分对本单元的一些重点单词和表达进行复习巩固。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的学习, 让学生达成以下目标:

    1. 知识目标

    (1) 复习本单元的重点单词、短语、句型和语法。

    (2) 提建议的句型:

    It’s polite/impolite to...

    You’re supposed/not supposed to...

    You should ...

    2. 能力目标

    (1) 能够运用得体的语言从不同方面表达中国习俗和礼仪: table manners, house rules, going out with people...

    (2) 能够写一封向外国朋友介绍中国文化习俗的信。

    3. 情感目标

    通过表达和比较不同国家的文化习俗, 了解不同国家的文化差异, 提高人际交往能力, 培养跨文化交际意识。

    Step 1 Lead-in

    Show students some pictures about Chinese customs, and then tell them some knowledge about Chinese customs.

    Step 2 Discussion

    1. Encourage students to offer some advice on Chinese customs.

    T: Mike knows little about Chinese customs, can you give him some advice?

    Students try to give the foreigner some advice on Chinese customs.

    2. Give some advice on Chinese customs to students.

    (1) Table manners:

    It’s polite to ask the elderly to start eating first at the table.

    It’s not polite to pick up your bowl to eat.

    You’re supposed to use chopsticks to eat.

    It’s not polite to stick your chopsticks into your food.

    It’s impolite to point at anyone with your chopsticks.

    It’s impolite to knock your empty bowl with your chopsticks.

    (2) House rules:

    You’re supposed to take off your shoes before you enter the house or just inside the front door.

    You’re supposed to greet the host family.

    You’re supposed to shake hands with people.

    You’re supposed to say “nihao” to people.

    You’re not supposed to bow, kiss or hug with people.

    (3) Going out with people

    You should tell the hostess where you are going.

    You should call first.

    You should make a going-out plan with friends.

    You must be excited about coming to China soon. Let me give you some suggestions and advice about Chinese customs. When you are eating at the table, it’s impolite to start eating first if there are older people at the table. You should let them start first.
