Key vocabulary: happening, noise, policeman, wolf, uneasy...something unusual, run away, in the neighborhood, have no idea...2. Key sentences: a. My wife thinks that it could be an animal, but my friends and I think it must be teenagers having fun. b. They think it might be the wind.c. There must be something visiting the homes in our neighborhood.3. Structure:modal verb+be教学难点:Learn to use must/can/could/may/might to make inferences. 教学过程(表格描述)教学环节主要教学活动设置意图Step 1Lead-in(PPT 3-5)Show some pictures to Ss to use must/can/could/may/might to make inferences. 2. Encourage Ss to come up with their own inferences. Lead to 3a.观察图片,运用情态动词表达推测,复习上节课所学,导入3a。Step 2Pre-reading(PPT 6-12) Fast readingBefore Ss read 3a, guide them to look at the picture and answer the questions. Ask Ss to talk about their feelings after hearing something unusual. Learn the adjectives to describe feelings. Work on 3a.
