    This text introduced the life the Yuan Longping---Father of hybrid riceFrom this text students will not only learn about the great contributions that made by Doc. Yuan, but also will feel the excellent personality of him.

    Students has learned some information or read some stories about yuan Long ping, so they are quite familiar with the main character. They may wonder why he chose to study agriculture as his major, what difficulties he met during the study and what kind of person he is.

    Yuan Longping is father of hybrid rice, who received the great honor for his great contributions to hybrid rice research and the work he did to improve rice production in developing countries. He is called a pioneer for all people.

    The most important crop besides rice is wheat, which is grown on different parts of China, and is used to make noodles and bread. Corn is also a popular crop in north and north-eastern China. It is used both for food and for animal feed.
