I always carry a Rubik’s Cube(魔方) in my backpack and I’m really good at solving it quickly. I usually ask people to try it first. They turn the cube over in their hands, make a few moves and then shyly hand it back — they don’t even know where to begin.
That’s exactly what it was like for me to learn how to read because I am dyslexic(有阅读障碍的). Although it’s awkward to admit this, I have to say I still couldn’t always spell my full name correctly when I was ten in Grade Four.
Solving the Rubik’s Cube has made me realize that sometimes you have to take a few steps backward in order to move forward. When I was in Grade Five, I had to leave public school and started a new life at a school for students who are dyslexic. I spent the next four years learning how to read, which later allowed me to return to high school with the ability to communicate and express my ideas.
The Rubik’s Cube also taught me that to work out something big. It helps to break it down into smaller pieces. I learned that it’s important to spend a lot of time thinking and try to find connections of each part. I believe that there are surprises around the corner.
Like a difficult text or sometimes like life itself, the Rubik’s Cube can be a big puzzle. So I carry one in my backpack as a reminder that I can achieve my goals, no matter what difficulty I may face.
24.How old was the writer when he went to the school for dyslexic students?
A.10. B.11.
C.14. D.15.
25.The underlined word “awkward” in the passage means ________ in English.

A.Practice makes perfect.

C.Lost time is never found again.
D.Take a step back to gain more.
27.How does the writer work out something big?
A.By dividing it into smaller parts.
B.By taking a few steps backward.
C.By making connections of each part.
D.By spending much time solving the Rubik’s Cube.
When visitors to the Palace Museum feel a need to sit down for a cup of tea or find a bathroom without a long line, they soon will be able to turn to their smart phones for the information they need.
Thanks to an agreement signed on Friday by the museum and Huawei, this modern solution will use 5G technology to build a “smart network”. Under the agreement, 5G Wi-Fi signals will cover the Palace Museum, China’s royal palace from 1420 to 1911.
“It’s important to always stay close to the latest technology to better serve the public,” said Shan Jixiang, former director of the Palace Museum. Shan said there is still much room for improvement in dealing with a large number of cultural relies(纪念物), such as when the priceless painting “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” is exhibited(展览) again in the future. When it was last exhibited in 2015, visitors stood in long lines until 3 am to have a look. The museum ended up preparing fast food to serve the hungry visitors. “I don’t want that situation to happen again,” Shan said. “Our work can be done in a more scientific way.”
The new system will also make use of the closed-cameras that are set up all over the Palace Museum to protect the museum’s valuable relics. More than 1.86 million of them are stored at the museum, which recorded nearly 20 million visits from the public last year. “How can we make sure no single visitor who might have bad ideas endangers these treasures?” Shan said. “After using the Internet of things, we can notice any movement about the relics at once to prevent such danger.”
The 5G network also will be used to improve tele-meeting through webcams, in which scholars will discuss together to find the best answers to repair and store issues.

In the Three-Body Problem books, Trisolarans (三体人), a kind of alien, can dewater their bodies. They can then get through terrible environments and come back to life again hundreds of years later. Is it possible that humans could be like that as well?
Scientists have now found some clues (线索)by studying water bears. These microscopic organisms (微生物) can live without water for a few years, according to University of Tokyo biologist Takekazu Kunieda.
When water bears find themselves somewhere without water, they turn into something called a tun. In this form, there are no signs of life, and they can survive (存活) on their own. Deep freezing, volcanic fire, the dark space...these tiny water bears just sleep it off and wake up once it’s safe again, said Science Alert.
But how do these little eight-legged water bears live without water? Scientists may find the answer now.
“It’s thought that as water leaves a cell (细胞), some kind of protein (蛋白质) must help the cell keep its energy to avoid breaking apart,” said Kunieda. Now scientists have found proteins unique(独特的) to water bears. The proteins protect their cells against dewatering.
Scientists also put those proteins into human cells. They found these proteins can make the human cell strong so that it won’t become smaller when losing water, said Science Alert.
With experiments (实验) of using human cells showing successful results, Trisolarans might one day come to be a reality.
32.What can Trisolarans do in the books?

B.They can live in water for hundreds of years.
C.They can dewater themselves and live in bad environments.
D.They can help other dead things come back to life.
33.What is the key for water bears to live without water?
A.Their special cells.
B.Their way of dewatering.
C.The energy of their bodies.
D.A kind of protein in their bodies.
34.What can we infer from the passage?
A.When there is no water,a water bear becomes a tun.
B.When losing water, the human's cell may become smaller.
C.Water bears will wake up after dewatering once it's safe again.
D.Water bears have better proteins than humans.
35.What is the passage mainly about?
A.How water bears can live without water.
B.What water bears can do for humans.
C.A scientific finding on water bears.
D.The story of the Three﹣Body Problem books.
Who was the most talented person that ever lived? It might be Leonardo da Vinci. The Italian was a painter, sculptor(雕塑家)and inventor. In 2023, we will celebrate his 571st birthday on April 15th.
Da Vinci is still widely considered as a great painter. His most famous painting, the Mona Lisa which still sits in the Louvre Museum, is a piece of great art work.
The Mona Lisa is famous for the mysterious smile. What is the reason for the woman’s smile? This is a question always asked, but it remains unanswered to this day.
Some believe that the Mona Lisa is actually a portrait(肖像)of Da Vinci himself! This is because some of her expressions on the face are similar to those in one of Da Vinci’s self-portraits. Others might suggest she smiles because she has lost her teeth! We will never know for sure. It is just fun to guess.
Others even think she isn’t smiling but looks unhappy. The scientists also say that if Mona Lisa doesn’t look happy to you, it might be because of your own feelings.
The researchers showed 43 people two groups of pictures. Group One all had neutral(中性的)faces. Group Two had happy and angry faces. Each time, people saw two pictures, one from Group One, the other from Group Two. Later, they described what the neutral faces were like. When people saw a neutral face after a happy face, most of them thought it was smiling. When they saw a neutral face after a sad face, most of them thought it had a sad expression. Scientists believe our brain has predictive power. People use their past experiences to predict what they are going to experience next.

Many of you have probably had this experience: You get on a train and are ready to have a rest or read a book, but you find that the passenger in front of you is watching a TV show on his tablet without headphones. The child next to you won’t stop crying. And the old lady behind you talks on her phone during the whole trip.
Wish the train could be less noisy? There might be a solution for you. The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, one of China’s busiest high-speed rail lines, will have “quiet” carriages(车厢)starting from Dec 23, Xinhua reported.
In quiet carriages, onboard videos will be muted(静音)and announcements will be made at a lower volume. Doors at the ends of the carriages will be kept closed to reduce noise from other carriages, CGTN noted. Train attendants(乘务员)will be responsible for making sure that passengers remain quiet and follow the rules.
Passengers who are willing to follow the rules can choose the quiet carriages when booking their tickets, according to China’s national railway operator.
Some people have pointed out that this kind of quiet environment should be offered in all carriages. They say that having quiet carriages might give people the impression that they don’t need to be quiet in non-quiet carriages.
While some Internet users are in support of the new service, others have some doubts about it. For example, they have raised questions such as “What if I snore(打呼噜)?” and “Can we talk to our friends if we need to?” Will these kinds of noises be allowed to make on the train?
45.Can announcements be made in quiet carriages?
46.What will train attendants do in quiet carriages?
47.Why do some Internet users have doubts about the new service?
48.Would you like to choose quiet carriages when you take the train? Why or why not?

There is a well-known saying—“Knowing is half the battle(战斗).” If that’s true, the 54 half must be doing. But what happens if you have a goal in mind, know everything you need to do to achieve that goal, but then do 55 about it? Are you really halfway to where you want to be? Probably not.
Recent work in cognitive science(认知科学) has shown that 56 is just a tiny part of the battle for most real-world decisions. In other words, knowing something is likely not enough to overcome our brain’s “built-in” reactions(反应). It just simply isn’t enough to drive us to change. But there are some 57 you can take to help you turn your “knowing” into doing.
First, 58 you want to improve your study skills, eat healthier or get more sleep, you should write your goals down. When you write down your goals, you record them on paper, which makes them clearer and 59 to follow.
Next, break down your goals so that they are easier to manage. Taking small steps to achieve your goals will help encourage you to 60 moving forward and complete more of these “mini-goals”.
61 , find someone you can share your progress with. Having a friend, a family member, or even an app can help to keep you in check to make sure you get all of the support you need.

根据“the morning of February 6, 2023”可知,是具体到某一天,所以用介词on,故选B。
3.B

9.B

When it was last exhibited in 2015, visitors stood in long lines until 3 am to have a look.” 所以it指的是“the priceless painting ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’”即“价值连城的画作《清明上河图》”。故选B。
根据第四段“More than 1.86 million of them are housed at the museum, which recorded nearly 20 million visits from the public last year. ‘How can we make sure no single visitor who might have evil ideas threatens these treasures?’ Shan said. ‘After adopting the internet of things, we can instantly detect any motion involving the relics to prevent such threats.’”
