Teaching procedures
Step 1 Leading In
- Warming up “ Up and Down”
- Ss watch a video about the animal friend -panda, the panda told the children that there was a sports meeting in the forest .
- T shows the pictures of animals, Ss say the animal names.
- Each animal stands for a task , If Ss finish one task, they can get some sports medals .
- Finish Task 1 (Tree climbing) , Ss review the words of sports .
Step 2 Presentation
- Finish Task 2
Read the story freely , then answer the questions .
(1)When did the sports meeting have ?
(2)Who won the 1000-meter race?
(3)Did the bear won the throwing match?
(4)What was the third sport ?
2. Finish Task 3
(1) Watch the videos and try to understand the meaning of the story.
(2) Read the story after the tape.
(3) T shows the key words on the blackboard .

1.Five pictures of animals change into five rings .
2.Ss read the Olympic motto.
3.T : We’d better play sports every day, Let’s be faster, higher and stronger .
Step 6 Homework
- Repeat the story .
- Make a story about a funny sports meeting .
