    Knowledge objectives

    ①Key vocabulary:

    bite, climb, hide, throw, fridge, pain, worse, medicine

    ②Key sentences:

    While the snake was lying on the table, Henry quickly picked up his mobile phone and took a photo with it.

    When Henry was trying to find the snake, his hand began to hurt badly.

    As the doctors were checking him, the pain got worse.

    Ability objectives

    ①Be able to get information from the reading material about accidents.

    ②Be able to use vocabulary and phrases correctly in this unit.

    Emotional objectives

    ①Let students actively participate in communicative activities and speak English boldly.

    Help students know the importance of dealing with the accidents.

    教学重点

    Students can master the past continuous tense.

    教学难点

    Students can understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article.

    教学准备

    Teacher preparation: multimedia courseware, textbook recordings

    Student Preparation: Pre-class preparation

    教学过程

    1.Lead-in

    ①Teacher asks students to watch the video.

    Ask students to answer the question and teacher checks the answer.

    2.Presentation

    Task 1 New words

    Show some pictures about the new words.

    ②Teacher organizes the students to read the new words together.

    ③Teacher picks a few students to read the words.

    Task 2 Reading

    ①Ask students to work in pairs and talk about what they can do with a mobile phone.

    ②Ask students to look at the picture and say what is happening.

    Play the tape and ask students to scan the passage.

    Ask students to skim the passage and choose the correct answer.

    Guide the students to listen to the tape again.

    Ask students to complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box.

    Organize the students to check the answers in the whole class.

    Task 3 Notes

    ①Organize students to come to the blackboard and show out some difficult language points that they found.

    ②Teacher explains the language points.

    Task 4 Sentences

    ①Teacher shows the important sentences.

    ②Ask the students to read through the sentences.

    Task 5 Writing

    ①Ask students to write a short story about an accident.

    Let some students show their stories.

    3.Practice

    Ask students to finish the practice.
