Warming-up

1. Guide Ss to review the adjectives to describe one’s appearances, personality, hobbies and abilities.

2. Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer the following questions.

What does he look like?

What is he like?

What’s he good at?

3. Compare the two pictures and show the sentences.

4. Lead in 1a. Match each word with its opposite.

5.Check answers.

通过复习描写人物的相貌、性格、爱好和能力的形容词，在轻松的氛围中对不同的人物进行描述并对比。导入本节课的新话题，连接反义词。

Listening

(PPT 13-20)

1. Make Ss look at the pictures and talk about the differences.

2. Play the tape for Ss to listen to 1b. Then number the pairs of twins in the picture [1-3].

3. Play again for Ss to check answers.

4.Look carefully, then make Ss play a game. Compare the people and learn the comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs.

5. Show more pictures for Ss to practice the comparative forms of adjectives.

播放听力一遍后，完成1b。利用该句型比较这三对双胞胎并进行练习。为2a和2b的听力打好基础。

1.Work on 1c.

Ask Ss work in pairs to practice the conversation in the picture above. Then make conversations about the other twins.

A: That’s Tara, isn’t it?

B: No, it isn’t. It’s Tina. Tina is taller than Tara.

  And she also sings more loudly than Tara.

2. Ask Ss to practice the sentences and talk about the twins.

3.Call some pairs to present in class.

听力之后，用1c的句型对1b的双胞胎的相貌进行比较。熟练这个单元的比较级句型。分角色表演对话，熟练本单元的核心话题。
