Lesson 41: Holidays

教学目标

通过本课节的教学，学生达成以下目标：

教学过程

Step 1  Review

1. Homework check.

2. Have a conversation to review birthdays and dates. Work in pairs like this:

A: When is your grandfather’s/... birthday?

B: His/... birthday is on July 12.            

Step 2  Leading in

Get the class to discuss this question: What holidays do you celebrate in each month? And ask some students to give their answers.

Step 3  Presentation 

1. Show the class some pictures and teach the holidays the Spring Festival, Children’s Day, National Day, Teachers’ Day, International Day , New Year’s Day and the words festival, national, international by talking about them between teacher and the class.

2. Teach the new words present, usually, during, mountain and climb and get the class to read them aloud by themselves and then repeat the words two or three times after the teacher. Make sure they pronounce them correctly.

Step 4  Listening and matching

Get the class to listen to Part 1 of the lesson. Match the Chinese holidays with the dates or months. (Let’s Do It! No.1 )

Step 5  Reading and answering

Get the class to read Part 1 of the lesson and answer the questions:

Step 12  Language points

1. Li Ming is presenting his report about holidays.

李明正在介绍他的关于节假日的报告。

  present此处作及物动词，意为“介绍；呈现”，后接名词或代词。

　My sister is presenting her painting to us all.

  我姐姐正向我们所有人介绍她的绘画。

　present作可数名词，意为“礼物”，与gift意思相同。

　What present will you give your father?

  你将给你父亲什么礼物？

2. I would like to talk about holidays in China. 我想谈谈关于中国的节日。

  would like意为“想；想要”，

would like sth.意为“想要某物”，相当于 want sth.

would like to do sth.意为“想要做某事”，相当于 want to do sth.。

  We would like some water.

我们想要一些水。

I would like to buy a new computer.

  我想买一台新电脑。

3. We can play with our friends and get together with our families during holidays. 在节日期间，我们可用和朋友玩耍，和家人相聚。

  (1) get together意为“聚会；聚集”。

  Let’s get together sometime.

  有时间我们聚一下吧。

  They get together once a year at Christmas time.

  他们每年在圣诞节时聚会一次。

  (2) during介词，意为“在……期间”。

  We go shopping during the Spring Festival.

  在春节期间我们去购物。

  They will go to Hainan during the May Day holiday.

  在五一节假日期间他们将去海南。

4. And the Spring Festival is usually in January or February.

春节通常在1月或2月。

  usually副词，意为“通常”，在句中表示动作发生的频率，通常位于be动词、助动词或情态动词之后，实义动词之前。

　My father is usually busy on Sundays.

  我父亲在周日通常很忙。

　When do you usually go to school?

  你通常什么时候去上学？

5. Happy New Year to you, everyone!祝大家新年快乐！

  Happy New Year (to sb.)!表示“（祝某人）新年快乐！”，回答时用Happy New Year!或The same to you.。
