How are you? Today, we are going to learn：Lesson 9 I Don’t Want to Miss Geography!（二）出示学习目标　过渡语:First ,let’s read the learning goals together.1.我要掌握单词和短语：since,poor,cough,--;miss class/school,have a cough.--2.通过学习，我要学会用英语和同学沟通学校的学习情况。过渡语:I believe everyone can achieve your goal? Can you ? Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks :(1)Li Lin has been sick for two ___________. (2)Li Lin came to school because she didn’t want to miss her favourite___________. (3)Wang Mei isn’t good at ___________,but Li Lin can help her. 【Key】(1)days　(2)class　(3)physicsFinish “Let’s do it” part 1.探究二: Reading　　(Read the text and finish part 2,3 in “Let’s Do it”)探究三：Language Points   1.辨析：since 和for （1）since 作介词，表示“自---以后，从---以来”，后跟时间点/从句，用来说明动作的起始时间。（2）for 作介词，表示一段时间，后跟时间段，指某事持续了多长时间。另外since还可以作连词，引导时间状语从句，意为“自---以后；从---以来”；也可引导原因状语从句，表示“因为，由于，既然”[练一练]:根据提示完成句子①We have been waiting here since two o’clock.我们从两点钟开始就在这里等了。②We have been close friends for many years。我们是很多年的好朋友了③We haven’t heard from him since he left China.自他离开中国以后，我们再也没有收到他的来信。④He didn’t come since he was very busy.因为他很忙，所以没有来。2.辨析：sick 和ill 　（1）sick 1) 可作定语、表语，译为生病的，有病的。2）只作表语时，译为“恶心的，呕吐的”（2）ill 只作表语，意为“有病；不舒服”。 [练一练]:根据提示完成句子①The sick girl still went to school. 这个生病的女孩仍然去上学了。②I feel sick.Maybe I’m sick. 我感到恶心，我可能生病了。③I’m ill. I can’t go with you.我生病了，不能和你一块去。3.miss的用法(1)  Vt. 错过，没赶上。(2)vt. 怀念，思念　(3)Miss作名词，意为“女士，小姐”。常用于称呼未婚女子，可单独出现，也可和姓氏连用。另外其还可以作为学生对女老师的称呼。[练一练]:根据提示完成句子①I don’t want to miss my history class。我不想错过我的历史课。②When I was in America, I often missed my old friends.我在美国时经常怀念我的老朋友们。③Good morning, Miss! 老师早！探究四：Finish “Let’s Do it” part 4.四、训练环节（13分钟）Ⅰ. 根据句意及首字母提示补全单词1.
