一、教学目标
1. 能掌握本单元的词汇:fall, follow, hole, ground, twice, once or twice, suddenly, pink, pocket, field, think about, deep, while, dry
2. 重点句型:

四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Retell the passage
Work in groups. Retell the story in Unit 2 according to pictures.
【设计意图】通过复述课文回顾上节课所学的知识,并能很好地调动学生的积极性,活跃课堂气氛。
Step 2 Presentation
Language practice
Read the sentences individually, and pay attention to the part in blue in the sentences.
【设计意图】让学生自己观察句子,找出规律,更利于学生对知识的学习和掌握。
Grammar learning
T leads Ss to learn the grammar of this module together.
【设计意图】帮助学生总结本模块语法知识,便于系统掌握。
Step 3 Practice
Do some grammar exercises.
Activity 1
Read through the sentences, and underline the correct words.
【设计意图】考查学生对一般过去时和过去进行时的区分。
Activity 2
1. Tell Ss to read through the first parts of the sentences and complete the sentences.
2. Ask Ss to check their answers in pairs and then think of questions for each sentence.
3. Elicit answers by asking some pairs to ask and answer.
【设计意图】继续操练过去进行时,要求学生能够正确写出过去进行时的句子。
Activity 3
Work in groups of four and play a chain game as follows.
A: At eight o’clock last night I was watching TV. How about you, B?
B: At eight o’clock last night I was sleeping. How about you, C?
C: At eight o’clock last night I was having dinner. How about you, D?

【设计意图】以游戏的形式帮助学生练习过去进行时。
Activity 4
1. Ask Ss to work in groups and ask their group members what they were doing at eight o’clock last night. While asking, make notes.
2. Have Ss write down full sentences according to the notes they made.
3. Elicit full sentences from the whole class.
【设计意图】要求学生将口头练习落实到笔头操练,进一步帮助学生巩固过去进行时的用法。
Activity 5
1. Ask Ss to read the expressions in the box and check their meanings.
2. Tell Ss to read the sentences and complete the sentences with the correct form of the expressions in the box.
3. Elicit the answers in full sentences.
【设计意图】考查学生对方框中的词汇掌握情况。
Activity 6
Read the words in the box and the passage first, then complete the passage with the words in the box.
【设计意图】不仅考查学生对单词用法的掌握情况,还考查学生对故事内容的理解。
Activity 7
1. Ss work in pairs to read through the sentences and guess what types of words need to fill in the blanks.
2. Play the recoding and ask Ss to complete the sentences individually.
3. Play the recoding again and check the answers as a class.
【设计意图】练习学生的听力能力,让学生学会听前预测,以便在听时迅速找到关键信息,锁定答案。
Step 4 Production
Look at the picture and make conversations
Work in pairs and make conversations using the grammar Ss have learned today.
Time: At 4 pm yesterday.
Place: In a park.
【设计意图】通过看图,编写对话,两人一组练习对话,巩固所学的语法内容。
Do the exercises
Let Ss do some exercises to consolidate what they have learned.
