Unit 1 It might snow.
一、教学目标
1. 掌握词汇:cloud, shower, snow, storm, cloudy, rainy, snowy, sunny, windy, skate, thick, ice, joke, might, temperature, minus, degree, although, wet, neither, terrible, wish, probably, come on
2. 掌握句型:
(1) What’s the temperature?
(2) It’s between minus five and minus two degrees!
(3) Most Decembers are wet and rainy.
(4) Not usually, although this year it snowed quite a lot.
3. 能够听懂谈论天气的对话。
4. 能够谈论,描述天气情况。
5. 能够了解语调在口语表达中的重要作用。
6. 能够正确运用表示可能性的单词和句型。
7. 能够通过了解天气情况,培养学生对学习地理知识的愿望和兴趣。
二、教学重点及难点
重点:掌握表示天气的词汇的用法。
难点:掌握表示天气和可能性的句型。
三、教学准备
1. 多媒体设备和课件;
2. 设计课后巩固练习;
3. 教学图片。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up
Look at the pictures and talk about the weather.
T: Boys and girls, you know weather has an important effect on our lives. If we’re planning a trip or getting dressed in the morning, we always have to know what the weather will be like. Look at the pictures. What’s the weather like?
S: It’s sunny.
S: It’s cloudy.
S: It’s raining.

【设计意图】通过多媒体屏幕向学生展示表示天气的单词,非常直观明了,易于帮助学生加深记忆。
Step 2 Pre-listening
1. T asks Ss to read the new words and make sure they know the meaning of each word.
2. T shows a pair of degrees of temperature and asks Ss to try reading them out. Then T shows the correct pronunciations for them.
3. T lets Ss practice reading the temperature.
【设计意图】通过一一呈现新单词,让学生朗读,帮助学生掌握新单词;通过学习温度的英文读法,为后面的学习打好基础。
4. T guides the students to make sentences with the words in the word box.
5. T lets Ss work in pairs. Then use the words in the box to describe the weather in recent days.
【设计意图】通过谈论“天气和气温”的话题,激活学生头脑中有关天气的词汇,为以“天气”为话题开展的一系列听说活动作铺垫。
6. T plays the recording for Ss and asks them to check the correct information in the table.
T: If we want to know weather information, we may listen to weather forecast. Please listen to a weather forecast and check the correct information in the table.
7. T plays the recording again and asks Ss to correct the wrong information in the table.
8. Ss check their answers with their partners.
【设计意图】通过听力活动,训练学生听懂天气预报、把握细节信息的能力。
Step 3 While-listening
1. T plays the recording for Ss and asks them to answer the questions.
2. T asks Ss to listen again and check the true sentences.
【设计意图】通过听对话,让学生感知对可能性的表述,并训练学生听辨细节信息以及理解对话大意的能力。
Step 4 Post-listening
1. T explains some language points to the class.
(1) Not usually, although this year it snowed quite a lot.不经常下,尽管今年下了相当多的雪。
although是连词,意为“虽然,尽管”,引导让步状语从句。不能和but连用。
(2) I like sunny weather, and I like snow as well. 我喜欢晴朗的天气,也喜欢下雪。
“也”:too (句末), also (句中), as well (句末)。
(3) Me neither.我也不。
(4) Come on, better get going! 快点,最好现在走!
better get going 是we’d better get doing的省略形式。
【设计意图】帮助学生掌握本课语言点。
2. T asks Ss to complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box.
3. The class check out the answers together.
【设计意图】通过词汇练习活动,学生不但可以复习在对话中学过的单词,还能训练阅读能力和技巧。
4. T asks Ss to listen to the recording and help them find out the different intonation.
5. T asks Ss to read these sentences loudly and decide if the speaker is asking a question or showing surprise.
【设计意图】本活动旨在让学生对特殊疑问句的语调形成基本的认识。
6. T asks Ss to listen to the recording and try to find out the different intonation.
7. T asks Ss to read these sentences loudly and decide if the speaker is asking a question or showing surprise.
【设计意图】通过语调的操练活动,学生可以对学到的有关语调的知识进行实践,对听到的句子蕴含的意思作出自己的判断。
8. T asks Ss to make a weather forecast for different cities in China. Use the correct information in the table in Activity 2 for help.
9. T divides the class into several groups, in each group one student acts as a reporter and the others act the weather and activities.
