一、教学目标

3. 能掌握表示可能性的词汇与句型的用法。

重点：掌握本模块词汇和短语。

难点：掌握表示可能性的表达方式。

三、教学准备

1. 多媒体设备和课件；

2. 设计课后巩固练习；

3. 教学图片。

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up

1. T divides the class into several teams and asks Ss to get ready for the game.

2. T shows some words about weather and lets Ss answer first.

3. T shows some sentences about weather and lets Ss answer first.

【设计意图】通过设计游戏，快速吸引学生的注意力，并通过小组合作的形式，激发学生的竞争意识和参与意识，增强学生的自信心。

Step 2 Presentation

1. T shows some sentences including might, probably and may and asks Ss to read.

2. T explains the usages of may and might for Ss.

【设计意图】教师通过讲解和举例，帮助学生理解情态动词may和 might 的用法。

Step 3 Practice

1. T provides some grammar exercises for Ss to practise.

2. T asks Ss to complete the sentences with may or probably.

3. Ss work in pairs and say what they usually do, and then say what they might do.

4. T asks Ss to complete the sentences. Use may, might or probably where necessary.

5. T asks Ss to complete the sentences.

【设计意图】通过设计综合性训练，帮助学生巩固本模块表示天气的词汇的用法、表示可能性的词汇的用法及连词because和so 的使用。

6. T plays the recording and let Ss to complete the sentences.

【设计意图】教师通过指导听力技巧，让学生在听的过程中带着问题去听，增强听力活动的目的性。

Step 4 Production

1. Ss look at the world weather map, then ask and answer the questions with their partners.

2. Ss discuss the answers in their groups.

3. Ss look at the weather table and complete the passage with the correct words.

4. Ss check their answers with their group members.

【设计意图】通过这一环节的练习，达到巩固本模块词汇的目的。

Step 5 Consolidation

Let Ss do some exercises to consolidate what they have learned.

【设计意图】通过设计短语练习和句型练习，帮助学生巩固本模块所学的重要短语和句型。

Step 6 Summary

T leads Ss to do a summary of the sentences with might, may and probably.

1. probably副词，表示“很可能，大概”，可能性很大，表示一种几乎完全肯定的意思。

2. might是情态动词，为may的过去式，其后接动词原形，表示推测时，可能性低于may。

Step 7 Homework

Use the modal verb to predict what the weather will be like next week and make a report about what you will do.
