Step 1 Warming-up

Free talk

T has a free talk with Ss: How many time zones are there in China? If it is 7:00 am, what are

people doing in Shandong and Xinjiang?

设计意图：复习现在进行时，活跃课堂气氛，调动学生学习英语的兴趣。

Step 2 Presentation

Learn the the grammar—the present continuous tense.

Step 3 Practice

1. Do the grammar exercises and check the answers together.

2. Look at the pictures and answer the questions.

3. Read the passage “Around the world” and then complete the table.

设计意图：了解其他国家或地区人们的生活，让学生提升对异国文化生活习俗的兴趣，拓宽文化视野。

Step 4 Production

Activity 5-7

1. Ss work in groups of four and plan a radio report.

•         Talk about news you would like to report.

•         List the activities you would like to report.

•         Make notes about the news.

•         Write what you are going to say.

2. Invite some Ss to show their report to the whole class. T corrects their pronunciation if necessary.

3. T chooses the best one from these reports.
