Step 1 Revision Ask and answer Qomolangma is 8,844.43 meters high. The Nile is more than 6,671 kilometers long. The Caspian Sea is 1,025 meters deep. Step 2 Grammar focus 1. Get the students to read through the sentences in Grammar focus. 2. Students read and rewrite the comparative and superlative of the adj. Step 3 review the trust of the comparative and superlative of the adj. 1.the +最高级+表示范围的介词短语 2. 比较级+than+any other +单数名词 3.one of + the +形容词最高级+名词复数形式 4. much+比较级 Step 4 Expression Stept 5 Practice 1. Get Ss to do the excise 2. Check the answers. Step 4 Work on 4b 1. Get the students to write two comparisons about two topics. e.g. Two rivers: the Yangtze River and the Amazon River The Yangtze River is almost as long as the Amazon River. The Amazon is longer than the Yangtze, but the Yangtze River is the longest river in China. 2. Students write and read their sentences. Step 5 Homework 1. Write two comparisons about two animals.
