1. modern adj. 摩登的，时髦的，现代的。如：

①This girl is very modern . 这女孩很时髦。

②Shanghai is a modern city. 上海是一个现代化的城市。

（1）modern的副词形式是modernly；它的名词形式是modernness。

（2）含modern的常用短语有：

modern furniture 新式家具；modern times 现代；modern history 近代史

2. comfortable adj. 舒服的，舒适的。如：

①This is a comfortable bed. 这是一张舒适的床。

②The nurse makes the sick man comfortable. 护士使病人感觉舒服。

comfortable的反义词是uncomfortable。如：
