三、阅读理解(本大题共15小题,每小题2分,共30分)
A
Sometimes the worst thing about feeling afraid is that you donˈt know what to do. Here are the top 3 ways that kids who answered our survey try to help themselves feel better:
1. Do something, like playing outside, listening to music, or watching TV.
2. Talk to your parents.
3. Talk to a friend.
Talking to a friend can help, especially if that person is supportive(给予帮助的). About half the kids who participated in our survey said theyˈd been teased(取笑)about being afraid.
And even more—75%—said theyˈve sometimes said they werenˈt afraid when they really were. So no teasing is allowed. Encourage your friend today and maybe he or she will encourage you tomorrow!
Hereˈs some very supportive advice kids had for other kids:
If you get scared at night, Monica, 10, suggests listening to the radio when youˈre falling asleep. And Naruto, also 10, recommends writing or drawing what youˈre afraid of and then ripping it to pieces. Eight-year-old Jessica finds it helpful to take a deep breath when youˈre scared.
Amanda, 10, thinks kids should talk with a parent or school counselor(辅导员). “They will find a way to help you get over it,” she said.
Bethany, 9, wants kids to hang tough, so weˈll let her have the last word: “Try, try again and never give up,” she says. “Youˈre not alone!”
- What would you do if your friends feel afraid?
A. Make fun of them. B. Tell their parents.
C. Encourage them. D. Give them up.
27. What does Monica suggest if you get scared at night?
A. Taking a deep breath. B. Listening to the radio.
C. Not telling anyone. D. Doing your homework.
28. Which of the following is NOT true?
A. The parents will find a way to help you to get over it.
B. About half the kids had been teased about being afraid.
C. Try your best and never give up. Youˈre not alone!
D. Drawing some pictures and then hand them into your parents.
29. What do the underlined words “hang tough” mean in the passage?
A. 半途而废 B. 知难而进 C. 坚持到底 D. 得过且过
30. Which of the following is the best title of this passage?
A. What to do? B. When to do? C. Whether to do? D. Where to go?
B
Dear Nancyˈs parents,
My daughter had a bullying(欺凌)problem a couple of years ago. It wasnˈt easy, but I ended it. When things are as serious as you describe, it is no time to be silent. These kids probably know each other from school, so take the rude text messages sent by the bully directly to the head-master and show him. Describe to him how it is affecting your 13-year-old daughter. Tell him you will not stand it and you want him to put an end to it now.
Bullying is a dangerous and serious offense these days, and any good headmaster will take your charges seriously. He will probably address the issues with the parents. If they are crappy parents, then they may do nothing to their child. You may have to repeat this process several times, but you need to keep a check on those text messages and donˈt allow your child to delete them.
Now it's the time to draw your child close and take care of her, because she needs it. My daughter did not like me being involved(参与的)either, but you are the only hope she has of solving this problem, so do it and mean business. Always be polite, but straightforward. The head-master and the parents must know you mean business.
If repeated meetings with the headmaster (and parents, if he allows it) does not solve the problem, then I would consider hiring a lawyer. That will send the message across loud and clear. When you are talking about financial loss, most parents will stand up and take notice and act to keep their kid under control!
Good luck—I wish you the best in this terrible situation.
Yours,
Rachel
- You should show the text messages to the headmaster to ______.
A. find which kid sent the messages
B. let him know you love your child
C. ask him to force the bully out of school
D. ask him to stop the bullying
32. What does the underlined word “offense” in Paragraph 2 probably mean in Chinese?
A. 职责 B. 冒犯行为 C. 经验 D. 警惕
33. What do we learn from the third paragraph?
A. Parents shouldnˈt be involved in a bullying problem.
B. Children can deal with bullying problems themselves.
C. Itˈs necessary for parents to be involved in a bullying problem.
D. Not all bullying problems can be solved.
34. What should you do if the bullying problem is not solved by the headmaster?
A. Meet the parents of the bully in person.
B. Ask the parents of the bully for payment.
C. Put your child under care.
D. Ask a lawyer for help.
35. What is the authorˈs purpose in writing the letter?
A. To offer advice.
B. To describe a personal experience.
C. To seek help.
D. To ask for advice.
C
When you grow rapidly through your teenage years, you will experience a lot of changes. The changes may seem difficult. They may seem to happen quickly. Don't worry! You will deal successfully with them! You are a young adult now!
With more responsibility, you will find more freedom to make your own choices. This is a time to learn to make choices. In this way you can make healthy decisions. They will help lead to a better future. For example, you may already know your dream job or you may have no idea at all what you want to do. Both situations are fine! Work hard and the right chance will bring itself to you.
Young adulthood means greater freedom and more choices. You will probably want to be independent.
But try not to shut your family out of your life. You should learn to think of others even though you are old enough to look after yourself.
It is also perfectly natural at this time for you to spend more time with your friends than your family. Choose your friends wisely. A true friend will stand by you no matter what happens
This period is a part of the life cycle. There are some people who will be with you throughout life's journey. There will be some people from whom you part and go your separate ways. Leaving school can be hard. The reality is that you may not even see all of your classmates again.
You are a young adult. It is your life. No one can live it for you. The choices that you make from now on will be your choices. So making the right choices will be important to you. Life is for living. Enjoy your life wisely!
- According to the writer, ______ makes teenagers worried.
A. making rapid progress B. experiencing the changes
C. dealing with difficulties D. having too much homework

A. choose their own hobbies more freely
B. have more free time to plan their future

D. have more time to do sports
38. As teenagers are becoming more independent, ______.
A. they don't care about their family any more
B. they like to stay with their friends more often
C. they have fewer wise friends to support them
D. they like to live outside
39. It can be difficult for teenagers to ______.
A. keep a lifelong friend B. part from their classmates
C. go on a journey with others D. live with their friends
40. ______ is probably the best title of the article.
A. Making Choices Wisely B. Planning a Good Future

六、任务型阅读(本大题共5小题,每小题1分,共5分)
Have you had a headache during a test? Have you ever been so worried about something that you have a headache or even can’t sleep at night? If so, then you know what stress(压力)is. Stress is what you feel when you are worried about something. This worry in your mind can make your body feel bad. You may feel angry, sad, scared, or afraid—all of which can give you a stomach ache or a headache.
However, there are different kinds of stress. Some kinds of stress are good and others are bad. Good stress might happen when you’re called to answer questions in class or when you have to give a speech. This kind of stress can help you to get things better done. For example, you may do a better job on your test if the stress pushes you to prepare better before the test. While bad stress can happen if the stress lasts too long. You may not feel well if your parents are fighting, if a family member is sick, if you’re having problems at school, or if anything else makes you unhappy every day. That kind of stress isn’t going to help you. And it can actually make you sick.
The best way to fight the stress is to have a balanced life. Make sure you keep yourself in mind: sleep, exercise, leisure(休闲)and food. If you get enough sleep and eat properly, and if you exercise and leave time for fun, you’ll probably feel less stressed.
(51) What is stress?
