    Unit 3 Listening and Speaking公开课教案

    Teaching aims:

    1.Enable students to understand the content and structure of an investigation interview about online habits.

    2.Guide students to  master how to define new words and use the skill to catch the key information in the listening process.

    3.Help students to identify the useful sentence patterns and expressions from the listening text.

    4.Talk about online activities and the reasons for using the Internet.

    Teaching key points:

    1.    Enable students to get the main information by means of definition.
    2.    Enable students to do a survey about online habits of their schoolmates through speaking practice.

    Teaching difficult points:

    1.    Cultivate students listening strategies by learning ways to define new words and be able to apply them to listening.
    2.    Enable students to discuss each others online habits using the useful sentence patterns and expressions in the listening text.

    StepⅠLead-in

    Read the quote on the Opening Page and discuss the following questions

    1.    What can you see in the picture?

    T: Class,lets look at the picture on the Opening Page. What can you see from it?

    Ss:There are people connected with each other.

    T:What do you think makes them connected?

    Ss: I think it is the Internet that makes them connected.

    1.    What do you think of the sentence by Bill Gates?

    TClass, what do you think of the sentence by Bill Gates?

    S1: It means people all over the world communicate with each other through the Internet.

    S2: It means the Internet has made the world closer together; we can interact on the Internet just like meeting at the square.

    StepⅡListening: Ask about online habits

    Activity 1 Warming up

    1. Talk about online activities and popular apps.

    T: Class, what do you usually do online?

    S1:I like to listen to music and watch movies online.

    S2:I usually chat online with my friends.

    T:Can you name some apps of social media you are using?
