通过提问的方式，引导学生谈论身边的或熟知的公园，激活有关公园的背景知识，如公园修建的目的和提供的活动，以及公园的种类等。

Step 2 While-reading

Task 1: Skim and Predict

引导学生浏览教材上的两幅图片和文章主、副标题，然后判断语篇类型，并预测文章可能涉及的内容。

 Where would you most likely read this passage?

 What do you think will be talked about in the text?

Task 2: Fast reading

让学生快速阅读全文，验证先前对文章内容的预测。引导学生关注主、副标题和图片在文章里的具体表达，然后完成活动2匹配小标题的任务。

Task 3: Detailed reading

（1）让学生再次阅读全文，完成活动3。把握学生观点中的价值观，引导他们正确理解人与自然的关系。

（2）让学生再次阅读全文，聚焦作者的感观体验，找出相关语句并按不同感官进行分类整理，完成活动4。

（3）让学生阅读全文（尤其是第二段和第三段），聚焦萨勒克国家公园的历史演变，找出作者介绍的顺序，梳理主要事件，探寻建立国家公园的意义。

（4）让学生完成活动5的词语填空，核对答案并进行复述。

Step 3 Post-reading

Task: Share and Discuss

让学生分组讨论活动6的两个问题。处理第一个问题时，引导学生用文中内容作证据；处理第二个问题时，除了文中内容，鼓励学生根据自身认知列举其他证据。

Step 4: Homework

Write about one of your experiences of going to a park using the writing skills learned in the class.
