教学目标	By the end of this section, students will be able to: grasp some key vocabulary and concepts about robots and AI before listening; get the main idea of a conversation about robot and artificial intelligence through extensive listening; learn about discourse markers and write down them mentioned in the conversation through intensive listening; use what they have learnt to discuss their opinions on robots and AI.
教学主题	听力内容是电台播出的一档科幻作品专家的访谈节目。专家Simon研究科幻作品，了解作品中的科学技术与现实生活的关联。整个访谈内容以及机器人三定律的内涵都值得学生关注和思考。从语言运用和对话交际策略来看，主持人运用了转换话题的技巧。因此，教材设计了“听取话语标记”的听力策略，提示学生在语言分析与运用时能注意关注、理解话语标记的不同功能，提升逻辑思维和语言的理解与表达能力。
教学重点	1. 引导学生在听前掌握一些关于机器人和人工智能的表达； 2. 引导学生听一段关于机器人和人工智能的对话，获取其内容大意； 3. 引导学生学习话语标记，并在精听的过程中通过话语标记梳理对话的逻辑顺序。
教学难点	引导学生运用所学内容，谈谈对机器人和人工智能的看法。
教学内容与过程	Step 1 Lead-in 通过呈现问题，带领学生列举他们所熟悉的机器人。  Have you ever communicated with a robot? What kind of robots do you know about? Step 2 Pre-listening 带领学生完成活动1，观察图片，和同伴讨论如下问题：  What jobs are these robots doing? What are the pros and cons of robots doing these jobs?  What kinds of robots or AI developments do you hope for? Step 3 While-listening 让学生泛听对话，获取文章大意。  What are the key aspects mentioned in the interview? 让学生再次听录音，完成活动2，将所示句子排序。带领学生学习话语标记，接着让学生完成活动3，记录对话中话语标记的使用。让学生听录音，将所示听力文本补充完整。 Step 4 Post-listening 带领学生结合教材所提供的转换话题的功能句总结学生自己熟知的话语标记。  What discourse markers do you often use?  What are their functions? 让学生阅读听力材料，结合材料中专家的回答，思考如下问题：  What do you know about robot technology? What can robots do?  What benefits do you think robots or AI will bring? Do you think they will cause problems as well?  Do you know anything about Isaac Asimov and his famous Three Laws of Robotics? What do you think of these laws? 让学生完成活动4，结合所示问题提示，和同伴探讨对机器人和人工智能的看法。 Step 5 Homework  Read the conversation aloud.  Exchange your opinions about robots and AI with your classmates.					备注

教学目标	By the end of this section, students will be able to: read a text about time travel; grasp the main idea of this text and it’s language features; continue to write the story with the help of some questions; use guide to write a sci-fi short story about time travel; cooperate with group mates actively through checking their sci-fi stories together.
教学主题	该部分活动主题是“写一则短篇科幻故事”（Write a sci-fi short story），要求学生在阅读《时间机器》（改编）后，就时间旅行展开想象，假设自己具备制造时间机器或时间旅行的能力，会对世界进行怎样的探索。本活动需要学生在理解、赏析科幻作品的基础上，抓住时间旅行主题，结合科幻小说的特征，写一则短篇科幻故事。整个活动需要学生大胆想象、关注细节描写，是对文学作品赏析、故事续编、思维创新等多方面能力的综合训练。
教学重点	引导学生阅读一篇关于时间旅行的文章；引导学生把握文章大意和语言特点；引导学生在所示问题的帮助下，续编故事。
教学难点	引导学生在指南的帮助下，创编自己的“时间旅行”故事；引导学生通过协作交流，相互学习，培养学生的合作精神。
教学内容与过程	Step 1 Lead-in 呈现与文章相关的问题，导入本节课的主题，激活学生的相关背景知识。  Have you read stories or watched films about time travelling?  How would people feel when they travel through time? 让学生完成活动1，分组讨论：如果可以穿越时空，你想做什么？  What would you do if you could time travel? Step 2 Pre-writing 带领学生一起了解即将要读的故事的背景知识，为接下来的阅读活动做好铺垫。引导学生结合文章标题和图片，谈谈自己将会了解些什么，形成阅读期待。让学生阅读文章，梳理语篇中启动时间机器的次数。让学生再读文章，完成活动3，梳理时间旅行的细节信息以及文章的写作手法。  How does the Time Traveller first know he has travelled through time?  How does the Time Traveller feel when travelling through time? What rhetorical devices does the writer use to describe his feelings?  Why is the Time Traveller worried about stopping the machine?  Where does the Time Machine arrive when the man finally stops it? 让学生完成活动4，结合所示问题提示，和组员一起分工协作，续写故事。 Step 3 While-writing 让学生完成课本活动5，以教材问题为指导，采用第一人称的写法创编自己的“时间旅行”故事。 Step 4 Post-writing Self-editing：先让学生自己修改初稿。 Peer-editing：让学生完成活动6，和同伴互改，并结合同伴的建议，对自己的故事进行修改。 Displaying：让学生完成活动7，在班级里分享故事。 Step 5 Homework  Polish up your story with the advice from your classmates and your teacher.  Read your classmates’ stories and recommend one you prefer.					备注
