课时分析
本次课程是人教版六年级上册第三单元第四课时,与前一课时密切相连。以“活动计划的地点和时间”为中心,通过对话学习词组:“lots of”,“half price”,“space travel”,以及句型:“Where are you going? I’m going to... When are you going?”的表达。同时,了解到电影院通常在周二半价放映,从中获取生活常识。前一课的学习为学生掌握本课内容打下了基础。本次课的关键是理解重点单词和词组,并能在实际情景中熟练运用句型:“Where are/is... going? I’m going ... He/She is going to... When are/is... going?”,以询问活动计划的时间和地点。
本课程分为“Let’s try”和“Let’s talk”两个部分。
“Let’s try”部分: 通过John在回家的路上与Amy聊天的场景,引入新句型。学生通过听力练习获取“Let’s talk”部分中人物和情景信息,为正式的对话学习做准备。这种情境设计紧密结合学生的生活,有助于激发学生的学习兴趣。
“Let’s talk”部分: 通过John和Amy在回家的路上的对话,引入句型:“Where are you going? I’m going to... When are you going?”。这个情境设计让学生在实际对话中运用所学句型,贴近生活,提高语言实际运用能力。
在词汇教学方面,要结合图片和一定的语境等方法帮助学生理解单词和词组的意思和发音。通过自然拼读法、分解拼读法等方式进行语音教学。在本次课中涉及的多个句型中,要着重放在句型的综合运用上。为了让学生能够真实运用语言,可以创设真实情境,调动全体学生积极参与,将情境与实际操练相结合,达到运用语言并巩固语言的目标。

教学过程
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use new vocabulary related to the bookstore (comic book, word book, dictionary, postcard) and practice asking and answering questions about plans using the sentence pattern "Where are you going? I’m going to buy..."
Step 1: Warm-up
- Greeting and Mood Check: T: Hello, everybody! Ss: Hi, Mrs/Mr/Miss... T: How do you feel today? Are you happy or sad? Ss: Happy.
- Weekend Plans Discussion: T: What are you going to do this weekend? S1: I’m going to... S2: ... T: Where are they going? What are they going to do? S3: He’s/She’s going to ...
Step 2: Lead-in
- Picture Guessing Game: T: I have many pictures. Can you guess what place it is? (Show images partially covered by question marks, e.g., hospital, cinema, museum, park, post office, bookstore.) (Engage students and introduce the topic of bookstores.)
Step 3: Presentation
- Introducing New Vocabulary:
- T: Let's explore a bookstore and learn some new words. (Show images of comic book, word book, dictionary, postcard.) a. T: What books can you buy in a bookstore? (Elicit responses, then show and teach comic book and word book.) b. T: Look at these dictionaries. What are they? (Teach dictionary, both singular and plural.) c. T: And this? (Show a postcard.) What's it called? (Engage students with visual aids and phonics-based learning.)
- Listening and Understanding:
- T: Listen to a conversation between John and his cousin Jack. Answer the questions. (Play the recording, students listen and respond.)
- T: Where are they going? What are they going to buy? (Elicit answers from students, reinforce listening skills.)
Step 4: Practice
- Word Recognition Activities: a. Guess the Word: Show words with parts covered, have students guess and read aloud. b. Word Chain: Students say the next letter of a word in sequence. c. Riddles: Describe a word and have students guess the word.
- Role-play - Bookstore Scenario:
- Divide students into groups of four: one as a bookstore staff, others as customers.
- Provide prop books on tables.
- Students role-play asking for and buying books. (Enhance practical language use in context.)
Step 5: Summary T: What have we learned today?
- Students share insights:
- We learned new words: comic book, word book, dictionary, postcard.
- We practiced asking and answering about plans using "Where are you going? I’m going to buy..."
