Teaching procedure
Step1 Warming up
1. Greet the class as usual.
2. ( Show a picture of a clothing store)
T: Do you like going shopping? Look! This is Miss Xie’s clothes store. Welcome to my store! Please come in. There are lots of beautiful clothes on sale! Do you want to go shopping with me?
Ss: Yes.
T: OK. Let’s go.
Step2 Presentation
- Teach the new words about the clothes.
(Show a picture of a shirt. )
T: Look! What's this?
Ss: It’s a shirt.
T: Look! What's this?
Ss: It’s a sweater...
In this way, teach the new words: shirt,T-shirt, sweater, skirt, shorts, pants, socks , shoes...And then talk about them.
2.Activity 1a. Ask students to finish 1a. Mach the words with the things in the picture.
Step 3 Practice
Listening: Activity 1b
T: There are two persons in the conversation.They are talking about the prices of clothes. Please listen to he tape and circle the words of the clothes you hear. Do you understand?
Ss: Yes.
Then check the answers.
Step 4 Consolidation
- Memory game
The teacher shows the pictures of the clothes, and students say the word and spell it quickly.
- Pair work. (Activity 1c)
Explain: how much and dollar. And the show the conversation and let students make their own conversations like that in 1c.
Step 5 Summary
In this period, we have learned how to talk about prices politely and we have also learned some new words about clothes.
Step 6 Homework
- Talk about prices with your classmates.
