Step 1: Warm up1.Greeting
2.Look and say T: Last class, we’ve been to the zoo, what animals can you see in the zoo?
3. Let’s chant Show the chant of “Let’s chant” on page 39. Let students chant together.
Step 2: Lead in & Consolidation1. Teach the new word – circus T: There is a circus show at the zoo today, Mike and his sister Lily are going to see it. Do you want to go with them? Ss: Yes! T: However, we don’t have the ticket to enter the circus. In order to get one, we’ll have to finish a task. Please complete the dialogue and find the lost animals.
2. Pair work Complete the dialogue according to the highlighted animals -What’s ________? -It’s a/an ______ .
3. Summary Explain the difference between “this” and “that” T: Congratulations! We’ve got the tickets. Let’s go to the circus with Mike.
Step 3: Presentation1. Watch and answer Q1:What animal do they see? Q2:What did Mike mistake the panda for at first?
2. I ask you answer / You ask I answer Show the shadow of the animals, and guess what they are.
3. Watch and answer Q1: What other animals do they see? Q2: Which animal does Lily like?
4. Teach the new word – funny Q: What’s the dog like? Leading the reading of ‘funny’ several times. Then lead the sentence: Cool! I like it.
5. Look and say. Make a dialogue using: -A funny ________. -Cool! I like it.
6. Listen and repeat.
Step 4: Practice 1. Let’s fill Ask Ss to fill the blanks
2. Let’s act Teach will judge Ss’ performance based on correctly/fluency/vividly.
3. Pair work T: Look, the circus need another animal for the new show. Can you recommend a candidate? Show the example of “Let’s play” Step5 Emotional education Play a video. Animals are our friends, we should love animals!
Step6 Summary Let’s chant: Hello, everybody. Let’s summary. Look at the words we will say. Is it a bear? No, no, no. Is it a dog? Yes, yes, yes. What’s the dog like? Funny, funny, funny. Do you the dog? Cool, I like it. Don’t forget this. What’s this? Don’t forget that. What’s that? Don’t forget the answer: It’s, it’s, it’s That’s all today, time to wave goodbye. Goodbye~ Goodbye~
