Step 1:Warm up & Lead in1. Play a song about numbers
2. T: Today is Sam’s birthday. Let’s sing Happy birthday! song for Sam.
Step 2: Presentation1. Watch and answer Q1: Who is Sam? Sam is Sarah’s brother. Q2: How does John congratulate Sam? Happy birthday! Q3: How old is Sam? Sam is six years old.
2. Language points (1) Happy birthday! 是一句祝贺对方生日的最常用的祝福语。具体说明要祝福哪个人时,则用“Happy birthday to + 某人!”答语:Thank you!/ Thanks!
3. Listen and repeat Let students read the dialogue after the recording and pay attention to the pronunciation and the intonation.
4. Look and fill Ask Ss to close the books, and try to fill in the blanks.
Step 3: Practice 1. Read and act. (1) Let students read the dialogue by themselves. (2) Let students practice the dialogue in groups, and then wear the headdresses to act out the dialogue.
2. Look and say Ask desk mates to describe the pictures by using sentences: -How old are you? -I’m XX years old.
3. Let’s play Play the video of “Let’s play”. Let students watch the video and make their own dialogues in pairs, and then show in the front of the classroom.
4. Pair work Let students work in pairs. One student writes five numbers on five cards. The other student writes five names on five cards. Let students play the game according to the video of “Let’s play”.
