    In ur daily lives, we prbably make silly mistakes. While these mments can be wrrying, they can als be dealt with humr. When we share a laugh at ur mistakes, we can calm urselves dwn with a little bit understanding and acceptance.
    When ne mrning in a rush t schl, I spilled (潑洒) my cup f range juice. I immediately thught f the valuable minutes I wuld have t spend in cleaning up the flr. I raced back and frth t the sink (洗碗槽) with a kitchen clth saked (浸透) with juice t wash ff. My legs were shaking as I watched frm my windw the schl bus cming t my street. Within a minute, I had thrwn the range-juice-saked clth t the sink and ran utside t jin the grup f kids in entering the bus. When thinking abut my mrning rush t clean up the spilled juice n the bus, I realized hw much unnecessary stress and wrry I put myself thrugh. I ended up smiling t myself abut my nt-s-serius nervusness ver spilled juice.
    These days I dn’t usually spill range juice, but I d smetimes spill a bit f spaghetti sauce n my pant r put n my sweater backwards when I’m really tired and in a hurry fr schl. In each f my mistakes, I try t remind myself nt t take myself s seriusly. It takes me a minute t calm dwn, take a deep breath and smile at my carelessness. It is the ability t see mistakes in a different way that enables me t find humr in everyday mments.

    With nly abut 1,000 pandas left in the wrld, China is badly trying t clne (克隆) the animal and save the endangered species. That’s a mve similar t what a Texas A&M University researcher has been undertaking fr the past five years in a prject called “Nah’s Ark”.
    Nah’s Ark is aimed at cllecting eggs, embrys, semen and DNA f endangered animals and string them in liquid nitrgen. “If certain species shuld becme extinct,” Dr Duane Kraemer says, “there wuld be enugh f the basic building blcks t reintrduce the species in the future.”
    It is estimated that as many as 2,000 species f mammals, birds and reptiles will becme extinct ver the next 100 years. The panda, native nly t China, is in danger f becming extinct in the next 25 years.
    This week, Chinese scientists said they grew an embry by intrducing cells frm a dead female panda int the egg cells f a Japanese white rabbit. They are nw trying t implant the embry int a hst animal.
    The entire prcess culd take frm three t five years t cmplete.
    “The nuclear transfer (核移植) f ne species t anther is nt easy, and the lack f available panda eggs culd be a majr prblem,” Kraemer believes. “They will prbably have t d several hundred transfers t result in ne pregnancy (懷孕). It takes a lng time and it’s difficult, but this culd be grundbreaking science if it wrks. They are certainly nt putting any live pandas at risk, s it is wrth the effrt,” adds Kraemer, wh is ne f the leaders f the Prject at Texas A&M, the first-ever attempt at clning a dg.
    “They are trying t d smething that’s never been dne, and this is very similar t ur wrk in Nah’s Ark. We’re bth trying t save animals that face extinctin. I certainly appreciate their effrt and there’s a lt we can learn frm what they are attempting t d. It’s research that is very much needed.”

    Thusands f tiny, bright-red crabs (螃蟹) almst cvered the beaches f Suthern Califrnia cmpletely last week. S residents dn’t catch them fr meat. These crabs are active during the day but prefer t stay in the shade and can die in the heat f direct sunlight.
    Marine experts (海洋生物學家) say the crab ppulatin increase is likely a result f the El Nin weather pattern. This natural climate pattern ccurs when the water in the Pacific Ocean near the equatr gets htter than usual. The warmer waters linked t El Nin pushed large quantities f the crabs up nrth frm Mexic, the marine experts said.
    This isn’t the first time that El Nin has affected the lcatin f creatures living in the Pacific Ocean. The black skimmer is a subtrpical seabird that has been sptted ff the cast f San Dieg, much further nrth than it usually lives. Marin needlefish, sea hares, and Dana Pint whales have als appeared in areas further nrth than their typical habitats.
