Section B 3a-self check (Period 5)Teaching ObjectivesKnowledge aims:(1)Students comprehend the points of writing about ownership, such as the correct use of sentence structures “I have...” or “I don’t have”, and “she has...” or “she doesn’t have...”(2)Ss master the usage of conjunction “but” in expressing transition.Ability aims:(1)Students can write down how they spend time with friends and use the conjunction “but” in their writing.(2)Students be able to use different forms of “Be” verbs when using “ and ” in writing.Emotion aim: Students can learn to form good living habits.Key and Difficult PointsKey point: Use the target language to write a short passage to show what they have.Difficult point: Use different forms of verb “have” in the present tense when compare students themselves (the first person) and B (the third person) when using “but” in writing to compare.Teaching&Learning MethodsTeaching Method: Task based language method.Learning Method: Brainstorming, mapping, cooperative method.Teaching ProceduresStep 1 ReviewShow your rewriting in the last period.Intention: Through the rewriting, students can get the key points of writing based on the passage on the book. They are familiar with the passage so it is a little easier for them to write in the next period.Step 2 Pre-writing:Task 1: Brainstorming.Work on Self Check.List all the sports you know. Write what you think of them.SportsYour opinionvolleyballfun, difficult......Task 2: Write more questions about sports equipment.Work on 3a.Task 3: Oral practice.I like volleyball, because it is fun.I like..., because I think it is...for...to...Intention: In this step, through brainstorming to list all the sports students know and review all description words in this Unit. Step 3 While-writingTask 4: Free writingWork on 3c: Look at the information in 3a. Write about yourself and your partner.e.g. 1. I dont have a baseball, but I have a soccer ball.2. Tom has a baseball, but he doesnt have a baseball bat.In the process of students free writing, the teacher inspects and guides them. Invite one student to finish on the blackboard. Other students write by themselves and check with their desk mates.Task 5: OutliningDo you have a soccer ball?Do you like it?What do yo think of it?Self editing: Students edit their own work by themselves according to teachers demand.
