教学目标
(一)语言知识目标
1. 学生能够听、说、认读单词strong, friendly, quiet。
2. 学生能够运用strong, friendly, quiet来进行人物的性格及外貌特征的描述。
3. 学生能够在图片、课件和文本语境的帮助下,运用句型 “He is/ She is ...”来进行简单地描述人物的性格和外貌特征。
(二)思维能力目标
1. 学生能够在情景中灵活运用核心句型描述他人的性格和外貌特征。
2. 学生能够熟练询问他人关于名字信息,及给予回答。
3. 学生能够正确读出单词:quiet, strong, friendly
(三)学习能力目标
1. 学生通过pair work等互动活动,学会与他人合作学习的能力。
2. 通过不同的学习任务,学生能有意识地运用所学字、词、句,培养“说英语”的能力。
(四)文化品格目标
1. 通过学习对朋友的描述,让学生可以从多个角度来认识朋友。
教学过程
Step 1: Warm-up and review
1. Greetings.
2. Lead in.
T: Look at this boy. What’s his name?
Ss: His name is John.
T: Do you remember? Who is John’s new friend.
Ss: Zhang Peng.
(利用两个问句What’s his name?和Who is his new friend?,复习上节课的重要句型,还有回顾上节课的主要内容)
Step 2: Presentation
T: Let’s compare with them. First, let’s look at Zhang Peng. Please watch carefully and choose the suitable words to describe him.
T: Then answer me about the question. What is Zhang Peng like?
1) Zhang Peng is ________.
2) Zhang Peng is ________.
(课件中给学生4个形容词进行选择填空。tall, short, strong, thin 进行观察比较,一般学生都能快速地做出回答。)
S1: Zhang Peng is tall.
S2: Zhang Peng is strong.
T: Great. We can say Zhang Peng is tall and strong.
(先呈现两个简单句,再把两句拼成一个句子,加入and 进行连接。)
T: How about John? Watch the picture again. And choose the words to describe him.
S3: John is short.
S4: John is thin.
T: Good job. So John is short and thin.
Step 3: Practice
- Let’s talk
T: Look at these boys and girls. Let’s look for more details about them.
1) Amy
T: What’s her name?
Ss: Her name is Amy.
T: What is Amy like?
Ss: She is friendly.
T: Yes. Amy is friendly.
(展示图片,单词及音标,呈现friendly时,可以加入friend。让学生了解两个单词之间的联系。)
T: In our class, who is friendly?
S1: ... is friendly.
S2: ... is friendly.
T: And how about teachers? Which teacher is friendly?
S3: ... teacher is friendly.
(讲到新词friendly时,可以扩展到我们实际生活中,让学生来造句,讲讲身边的同学和老师)
2)Sam
T: What’s his name?
Ss: His name is Sam.
T: Sam doesn’t like talking. What is he like?
Ss: He is quiet.
T: Sam is quiet. Just like Peter in our class. (举一个班级里比较内向的同学的名字)
T: Who is also quiet in our class?
S1: ... is quiet, too.
3)Lily
T: Look at this girl. What’s her name?
Ss: Her name is Lily.
T: What is Lily like?
Ss: She is quiet and friendly.
T: Great.
4)Tim
T: Look! What’s his name?
Ss: His name is Tim.
T: Is Tim a tall boy?
Ss: Yes, he is.
T: Tim is tall. Is he fat?
Ss: No, he isn’t. He is thin.
T: That’s right. Tim is tall and thin.
- Let’s guess.
T: Look. John and Mike are playing a games. They are talking about their friends. Let’s guess. Who is he or she?
1) He is a boy. He is tall and strong.
2) He is a boy. He is tall and thin.
3) He is a boy. He is quiet.
4) She is a girl. She is friendly.
5) She is a girl. She is quiet and friendly.
(给出关键的信息提示,让学生来猜,熟悉一下重点句型和单词)
T: OK. Now let’s play a guessing game. You describe your friends to us. And we guess who is he or she?
(等句型和单词熟练了之后,可以把话题转移到猜同班同学,先让学生准备一下,用简单的英文描述一下他的性格和外貌,再让其他同学来猜)

T: Open your books and turn to page 25. Let’s watch the video and follow it.
- Let’s chant
T: Listen to the chant and let’s follow it.
(chant比较有节奏,可以等学生熟悉了节拍之后,小组进行比赛)
