Luckily, these “new" worries only stay for a little while. Let's find out more about going to a new school.

“There are more people actively learning a language through DuoLingo than in the entire U. S. public schools." says Luis von Ahn, who developed the free language learning app. Since it was put to market in 2012, more than 30 million people have downloaded the app, which gamified (使游戏化) education and attracted many language learners.
The growth of technology for educational use has changed the way in which people learn and receive education. This is particularly true for languages. an area in which the spread of mobile apps has provided choices to a lot of people who were unable to receive foreign language education before.
Von Ahn says that when he developed DuoLingo he decided to find a way for people to learn a language for free. Free use of languages was something he had a personal interest in addressing: He grew up in Guatemala, where he was surrounded by people all trying to learn English, half of whom failed to do so and a lot of whom could not afford it.
One of the big changes caused by tech is the change in language learners.Languages have long been connected with the rich people, but now people from less rich backgrounds are finding affordable ways to learn.
Von Ahn says an unexpected result of DuoLingo being an app is that it's attracting an unlikely type of user. DuoLingo was meant to be like a game, and what the company has found is that many users aren't even necessarily diehard (顽固的) language fans, they're just looking for an educational way to kill some time.
“They're still procrastinating(拖延)from something else, but at least it's somewhat useful.”says Von Ahn, "The truth of the matter is that learning a language takes months or years. We have to find a way to keep them interested and that's where the gamification came in.”
32. What can we say about DuoLingo after its being put into market?
A.It is used by all U.S. schools. B.It costs 30 dollars to download.
C.It changes the use of languages. D.It makes education more enjoyable.
33. Why does the author mention Von Ahn in paragraph 3?
A. To show his hardship in childhood.
B. To explain why he developed the app.
C.To show he was interested in the app.
D.To find out how he developed the app.

A.They can learn a language faster.
B.They become language fans totally.
C.They can learn in a low-cost way.
D.They can now use it to kill some time.

Come Back to Me
I'd always wanted a dog. But the answer was always no. Then when I was eight years old, my aunt came back from her daily run with a saved puppy.
After weeks of unsuccessfully looking for the owner and begging to keep him, we finally made"Pepper”, a black-and-tan Beagle mix, a member of my family. And, like many children with a new thing, l became obsessed (着迷).Learning everything about a dog was at the center of my world.
Pepper was there for me as I grew up. When I felt sad, he cheered me up and gave me unconditional love. His tail uncurled (伸直) and recurled with every movement of the tail and made me smile. His welcoming "tippy-tap dance" let me forget all the sadness. The way he cocked his head when I talked to him made me feel as if he understood every word. He'd perform tricks to win a treat or two...or four.
Then, when Pepper was sixteen, I got the call that I'd hoped would never come. I was unhappily married, living hours away, barely making ends meet, and trying to balance (平衡) life with a newborn son. The phone rang with unexpected news that it was time to say goodbye to Pepper. I anxiously tried to save enough money so that I could drive home and see him one last time. But I couldn't.
The realization that I wasn't going to be able to say goodbye tore my heart apart. I imagined my Pepper wondering why I was not there for him when he had been there for me for so many years. Within days, he was gone. For years, I didn't pardon myself. Every time I remembered it, the tears returned as if the wound in my heart was fresh. That old saying, "Time heals all wounds," was a terrible lie. How could I heal? I didn't get to say goodbye. The only thing I could do was cry, telling his picture, "I'm so sorry," and "I love you so much."
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
When my son was eight years old, another dog, Preston, came into our lives.
It was as if Pepper had come back to me again.

Dear Patrick.
I can totally understand your concerns. My suggestions are as follows.
First, you can find ways to make what you learn in your Chinese classes serve a practical purpose for your personal interests. Your hobbies and future jobs will benefit from such knowledge. Besides. talk to your teacher about how you want to regain interest in Chinese classes. I'm certain she would be willing to help you improve your learning skills.
I hope my advice will be of some help to you.
Yours.

第二节
When my son was eight years old. another dog. Preston. came into our lives. While Pepper still owned a piece of my heart, Preston brought back my love and obsession for dogs. He was there for me every day. But something unexpected was in Preston. Something familiar. Something comforting. The curious way is that his corkscrew tail is uncurled and recurled. That recognizable "tippy-tap dance". The way he cocked his head when I talked to him as if he understood every word. His tricks to win a treat or two...or four.
It was as if Pepper had come back to me again. I thought I was seeing what I wanted to see in him. and even a high-school friend who'd known Pepper made the comment, "It's so strange! His behavior is just like Pepper!" This brought me great comfort, and my heart began to heal. While I'd never considered rebirth before.I allowed myself to think I'd been given another chance to love Pepper again. Preston somehow made up for not being there for Pepper, My guilt released its hold, and I was able to put it to rest.
