    2. Be able to greet each other using the target language.
    3. Be able to introduce yourself and others.

    Process and method

    1. Listening , speaking practice.
    2. Autonomous and cooperative approach.

    Emontional attitude and values

    Lead students to be warm and polite.

    Teaching focus;

    1. Master the key words and expressions.
    2. Be able to greet each other using the target language.
    3. Be able to introduce yourself and others.
    4. Master the use of verb be

    The difficult points in teaching

    Be able to use the target language to greet each other and make introduction.

    Teaching  steps :

    Step I  Warm-up

    Greetings. Greet the students using  “Good morning/ Good afternoon / Hello /Hi …”

    Conclude the simple ways to make greetings.

    Step II  Presentation

    1. Activity 1a

    Look at the picture in 1a and write English words for the things in the picture.

    Ask each group leader to make a report to see which group has the most words.

    Ask some students to introduce themselves using ‘I’m…“ orMy name is …“

    Then ask students to read the conversation in picture together. Explain some language points.

    1. Activity 1b

    Ask students to look at 1b and read the conversations.

    Listen to1b first, students pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

    Listen to 1b again, students number the conversations.

    Check the answers and ask some pairs to practice 1b.

    1. Activity 1c

    Ask students to practice 1b with a partner using their own names.

    Then, invite some pairs to act out their conversations.

    1. Activity 2d

    Read through the conversation in 2d silently to find out what they are about.

    Read it loudly in pairs,

    Step III  Practice

    1. Activity 2a

    Listen to 2a carefully, and ask students to get the main idea.

    Then ,number the pictures. check the answers.

    1. Activity 2b

    Ask students to try to read these names, then listen and circle them.

    Check the answers.

    Lead students to repeat the names together.

    1. Activity 2c

    Read through the conversations in the boxes. Then read it in pairs.

    Step IV Consolidation

    Ask students to greet each other using the target language like this:

    ——Whats your name?     —— My name’s

    ——Nice to meet you!       —— Nice to meet you ,too.

    Step V Summary

    In this period , we’ve learned how to introduce ourselves and other people. And we’ve also learned some expressions and language points for greeting.

    Step VI Homework

    1. Talk about Chinese family name.
    2. Choose an English name for yourself.

    Teaching reflection:

    本节课主要教学生学会自我介绍,能寻问他人姓名。教学过程坚持教师为主导,学生为主体,任务为基础的教学原则,学生开展结队练习,小组讨论,合作学习,能充分地应用目标语言引导学生进行自主交际,培养学生综合应用英语语言的能力,

    注重学生的情感培养,趣味课堂增加了一些相关的异域文化知识,增强学生学习英语的兴趣。兴趣是最好的老,这方面以后还要做长期的努力。

    面向全体学生,关注后排学生,走到学生中间,引导所有学生积极参与课堂学习也是一个成功之处。
