    【Teaching Key and Difficult Pints:】
    Key Pint: Understanding the develpment f the Chinese writing system frm pictgrams t mdern characters.
    Difficult Pint: Grasping the histrical cntext and cultural significance f the Chinese writing system in uniting the Chinese peple.
    【Teaching Prcedure:】
    Step1:Warm-up:
    Start the class with a brief discussin abut the imprtance f written language in different cultures. Ask students if they are familiar with ancient writing systems and if they can think f any examples.
    Step2: Pre-reading
    Present a picture f Chinese calligraphy and the Chinese character fr "eternity" (永). Ask students t share their thughts n the artwrk and discuss what they think the article might be abut.
    Step3:While-Reading
    Activity 1: Vcabulary Explratin
    Prvide a list f key vcabulary frm the article and have students lk up their meanings. Ask students t use the vcabulary in sentences t demnstrate their understanding.
    Activity 2: Reading and Cmprehensin
    Divide the class int small grups and assign sectins f the article t each grup.
    Instruct each grup t read their assigned sectin and identify the main pints and supprting details. Have each grup present their findings t the class, fstering discussin and addressing any questins.
    Activity 3: Timeline f the Chinese Writing System
    Create a timeline n the bard that shws the develpment f the Chinese writing system frm pictgrams t mdern characters. Have students place imprtant milestnes n the timeline, such as the use f lnggu, the Shang Dynasty, and the Qin Dynasty. Discuss the significance f each milestne in shaping the Chinese writing system.
    Activity 4: Chinese Calligraphy Demnstratin
    Shw students a vide r images f Chinese calligraphy being created. Explain the significance f calligraphy as an art frm in Chinese culture and its cnnectin t the writing system. Prvide students with calligraphy brushes and paper and let them try writing simple Chinese characters themselves.
    Step4: Pst-Reading
    Reflectin and Discussin
    Lead a class discussin abut the article's main pints and the students' thughts n the Chinese writing system. Encurage students t share their reflectins n hw the Chinese writing system has played a rle in cnnecting the past and the present. Discuss the significance f language in preserving and passing n cultural heritage.
    Hmewrk:
    Assign each student a Chinese character and ask them t research its rigin, meaning, and histrical cntext. Students shuld create a presentatin r pster shwcasing their findings, and they can als demnstrate their calligraphy skills by writing the character beautifully.
