I have been dancing since I was 14 years ld, when my best friend dragged me t an after-schl dance class. I enjyed that dance class s much that I have been dancing ever since. After every dance class, hwever, I always have t stretch ut my legs and back, as dancing can be quite a tugh wrkut! It feels like as much exercise as ging t the gym—but dancing is nt widely cnsidered t be a sprt.
Many dancers wuld argue that dancing is a sprt, as it requires great physical stamina (耐力), strng muscles and impressive flexibility. N matter what style f dance yu are participating in, yu will always be using all f yur muscles while dancing and this can ften be fr several hurs a day. Additinally, in the mre traditinal dance styles (such as ballet and cntemprary dance), men ften lift their female dance partners up in the air. The strength that dancers need means that they are ften just as athletic as ftballers, runners r swimmers.
On the ther hand, many peple argue that dance is an art frm. Dances ften exhibit emtin, shw characters and tell stries. Dancing t music is creative and visually appealing t the eyes and ears. It is easy t see why many peple cnsider dance t be an art frm. I persnally believe that dance is bth a sprt and an art. I believe that a great dancer will be a mixture f an athlete and an artist.
Hwever, whether yu cnsider dance t be an art r a sprt, the imprtant thing is t enjy it! Dancing is a great way t make new friends and it’s a really fun way t exercise!

Plastic straws (吸管) have been a majr prblem in glbal discussins f envirnmental damage. Maybe because f their small size, the prductin cst f straws is lw. In many cuntries, straws are ffered freely after buying sft drinks. Therefre, plastic straws are ne f the mst used plastics and pllutants in the wrld.
The plastic straw is light and small. Due t their small size, plastic straws are ften eaten by sea animals. Envirnmentalists have shwn that the death f many sea animals is caused by eating plastic straws. The ther damaging characteristic f plastic straws is that they are made f materials which cannt degrade. That means the materials cannt be changed int small harmless (无害的) nes.
The mst effective way f dealing with the envirnmental pllutin caused by plastic straws is the reuse r banning (禁止) the use f plastic straws. Being plastics, the straws can be made new items. Many rganizatins arund the wrld change used straws int new prducts. In Africa, lcal cmmunities cllect used plastic straws and use them t make mats and bags. Anther way f dealing with envirnmental pllutin caused by plastic straws is placing a ban n their prductin and use. Experts advise gvernments t ban using plastic straws t save the envirnment. A few cuntries in the wrld such as Rwanda, Macednia, China, Kenya have already banned the use f plastic bags and are expected t include plastic straws and bttles. But it will be a lng way t d this effectively.
There are few envirnmentally friendly and bidegradable prductins t take the place f plastic straws. These prductins include paper straws, bamb straws. Hwever, such straws are usually expensive as their prductin cst is high. It's still a questin whether they can entirely take the place f plastic straws.
8.Why can peple be free t use plastic straws?
9.What des the underlined wrd “degrade” in paragraph 2 mean?
10.What can we learn frm paragraph 3?
11.What des the authr think f envirnmentally friendly straws?
