The science fictin writer Arthur C. Clarke visited Bell Labratries in the 1960s. He heard a cmputer “sing” the sng "Daisy Bell" n devices and prgrams develped by Max Mathews and ther engineers. Clarke nted this technlgy in his bk “2001: A Space Odyssey,” which was later made int a mvie.

Why shuld I teach my children histry? That sunds like a stupid questin t even ask. We can nt even understand wh we are and where we are withut histry, much less try t figure ut where we are ging r hw we shuld get where we want t be.
I teach my children histry, fr ne mre reasn. I purchased a set f histrical audi tapes fr ur children. My seven-year-ld sn listened t them ver and ver. It was my hpe that he wuld becme inspired by the accmplishments f peple like the Wright brthers t accmplish things by himself. I als think that by studying peple like Adlph Hitler, peple can learn t stand against the things that he std fr.

C.Many peple feel it hard t understand histry.
D.Many peple have n interest in studying histry.

C.it helps us understand why things are the way they are
D.it helps peple accept the present situatin where they live
14.Sme histrical figures are mentined in the last paragraph t shw
A.peple can be inspired t d gd, while als learning t fight against evil
B.peple may als learn frm bad histrical figures
C.mre celebratins shuld be held t hnr their achievements
