    (1)The elephant lives in Africa and in Asia.
    (2)The zebra is an African animal.
    (3)The zebra desn’t eat bamb.
    (4)The tiger lives in Asia.
    (5)MnKeys live in Africa,Asia and America.
    【教学过程】
    Step 1 Warming­up
    1.Review the text f Unit 1.
    2.Shw sme pictures,ask the students t lk at the pictures,then talk smething abut the pictures.
    3.Intrduce the new wrds.
    4.Read the new wrds.
    Step 2 Find these places n the map
    1.Shw a map f the wrld.
    2.Find these places (Africa,America,Asia,Eurpe)n the map.
    3.Check with a partner.
    4.Call back the answers frm the whle class.
    5.Shw sme pictures,ask the students t lk at the pictures,then talk smething abut the pictures.
    Step 3 Reading
    1.Play the recrding.
    2.Ask the students t read thrugh the passage.
    3.Read the passage and cmplete the table in Activity 3.
    4.Check with a partner.
    5.Call back the answers frm the whle class.

    Step 4 Language pints
    1.The panda eats abut 30 kils f bamb a day as well as ther plants.除其他植物外,熊猫一天要吃大约30千克竹子。
    as well as意为“并且,还”,可用来连接两个相同的成分,但强调的重点在前面,不在后面。
    如:I am gd at maths as well as Chinese.我既擅长语文又擅长数学。
    The girl is beautiful as well as healthy.这个女孩既健康又漂亮。
    [注意]as well as连接并列主语时,谓语动词的数与前一主语保持一致。
    2.This black and white animal is the favurite f peple all ver the wrld.这种黑白相间的动物是全世界人们的最爱。
    (1)peple集合名词,意为“人,人们”,无复数形式。peple作主语时,谓语动词用复数。
    如:There are many peple in the park.公园里有许多人。
    Hw many peple are there in his family?他家有几口人?
    [拓展]peple还可以用作可数名词,意为“民族”,其复数形式为peples。
    如:The Chinese peple is a great peple.中华民族是一个伟大的民族。
    (2)all ver the wrld意为“全世界,世界各地”,其同义词组是all arund the wrld。
    如:There are many different animals all ver/arund the wrld.全世界有许多不同的动物。
    3.It eats leaves as well as grass,but the zebra desn’t eat bamb.除了吃草外,它还吃树叶,但是斑马不吃竹子。
    leaves是名词leaf的复数形式,意为“树叶”。以f,fe结尾的名词变复数时,常将f或fe变为v,再加­es。类似的单词还有:
    thief(小偷)→thieves wife(妻子)→wives
    half(一半)→halves knife(小刀)→knives
    wlf(狼)→wlves life(生命)→lives
    self(自己)→selves
    4.Africa非洲
    Africa名词,意为“非洲”,其形容词形式是African,意为“非洲的”。类似结构的词还有Asia(亚洲)—Asian(亚洲的) Eurpe(欧洲)—Eurpean(欧洲的) Australia(澳大利亚)—Australian(澳大利亚的) America(美国)—American(美国的)
    5.It’s strng and catches many kinds f animals fr fd.它体格强壮,捕捉许多动物为食。
    catch及物动词,意为“抓住;接住”。catches是动词catch的第三人称单数形式,由catch加­es构成。
    如:I catch the ball.我接住了球。
    [拓展]行为动词在句中作谓语时,如果句子的主语是第三人称单数,那么行为动词也要用第三人称单数形式。动词第三人称单数的构成规则如下:
