    Engineers have launched a huge garbage cllectin device t gather plastic material flating in the Pacific Ocean between Califrnia and Hawaii.
    The plastic makes up what is called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It is the wrld’s largest spread f garbage, at twice the size f the state f Texas.
    The rganizatin Ocean Cleanup created the cllectin device, whse funder is Byan Slat, a 24-year-ld inventr frm the Netherlands.
    Slat was just 16 years ld when he was mved t clean up the ceans. Last Saturday, a ship pulling the pipe-shaped flating barrier left San Francisc fr the Garbage Patch. The barrier, called the flater, is 600 meters acrss. Attached t it is a screening skirt that hangs three meters dwn in the water.
    The screen is designed t cllect the plastic as it mves thrugh the water. Sea animals can safely swim under the barrier.
    The cleanup system als cmes with lights pwered by the sun, cameras, and ther special devices. S the system can cmmunicate its psitin at all times. That way a supprt ship can find it every few mnths t remve the plastic it has cllected.
    “The free-flating barriers are made t survive extreme weather cnditins and damage frm cntinue use. They will stay in the water fr twenty years and in that time cllect 90 percent f the garbage in the patch,” Slat added.
    Gerge Lenard is the chief scientist. He expressed cncern abut the cleaning prject. He said even if plastic garbage can be taken ut f the ceans, mre cntinues t enter the water each year. He als raised cncern that animals might be captured by the net hung belw the surface.

Ariely ran an experiment and fund that when nly the tw“real”chices were ffered, mre peple chse the less-expensive digital subscriptin. Hwever, the bad ptin increased peple’s likelihd f selecting the expensive print plus digital ptin.
