Harvesting fruit is a very precise peratin. The fruit must be picked when it is perfectly ripe (成熟的). But with pickers in shrt supply in recent years, grwers needed t quickly find anther way t harvest their crps. Tevel Aerbtics Technlgies came t help farmers with the Flying Autnmus Rbts(FARs)that can help pick fruit.
“Nt finding enugh fruit pickers is every farmer’s biggest cncern,” Yaniv Mar, Tevel’s funder and CEO said. Ask any farmer, anywhere in the wrld and they’ll tell yu they dn’t have the peple. Mar set up Tevel in 2017 and develped the technlgy after seeing yung peple pick fruit and get tired after a few hurs. He realized that there had t be a better way, s he began develping the sftware and artificial intelligence (AI) that are needed fr the smart rbt pickers. “We have t teach the rbts abut the structure f each fruit, hw t get clse t the fruit and hw t turn it and pick it frm the tree,” Mar said.
The flying rbts circle rund trees and pick nly the ripe nes with a twist (扭动) f their arms. The rbts are fitted with cameras that use AI t assess the size and clr f the fruit s that nly the ripe nes are picked. The cameras als ensure that the rbts’ paths are nt blcked.
