But when yu g fr a walk in the wds, what makes yu feel gd? Is it the sights r smells r sunds? A new study finds it might be the birds yu hear while yu have a walk.
    Researchers frm Califrnia Plytechnic State University analyzed(分析)hw much the natural sunds peple hear when they're utdrs influence well-being. They fund that the “chrus(合唱)” f birds singing increased well-being in prtected natural areas.
    Fr the study, researchers put 10 hidden, evenly spaced(等间距的) speakers (扬声器) n tw parts f trails(小路) in the Bulder Open Space and Muntain Parks in Clrad. They played recrded sngs frm 11 kinds f birds. The researchers take tums t play the birdsng fr a few hurs a day fr a week, and then turned ff the speakers fr a week at a time. They interviewed hikers after they passed thrugh the areas with the speakers.
    “The main result is that hikers that heard the birdsng shwed a higher level f well-being cmpared t thse that did nt hear the birdsng,” Bilgy Prfessr Clintn Franeis, wh led the research, says.
    Hikers wh heard mre birdsng n the first part f the trail said they felt better. Thse wh heard mre birdsng n the secnd part reprted that they thught mre birds lived alng that part f the trail. This feeling f mre birds helps make the hikers feel better. “With the chrus, we were able t shw that natural sunds have a clear influence n the quality f hikers’ experiences,” says Francis.
