“In practice, what we see is mre small and medium cmpanies trialling the fur-day wrkweek,” says Pedr Gmes, authr f Friday is the new Saturday. Other rganizatins fr which fur-day wrkweeks are likely ff the table are hurly-and service-based — like restaurants, retail and healthcare — where a shrter wrkweek and subsequently fewer shifts eventually means pay cuts. Creating a pathway t less labur may be impssible in these industries, if it means lsing ut n pay.
Even facing resistance frm sme leaders, experts say it is likely the fur-day week will becme mre mainstream.
