When Ariel Crdva reached Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in Queens, New Yrk, last Nvember, she planned t g hiking and bird-watching. On the subway, n ne seemed t be astunded by the feathered passenger. “Even ne guy, wh was sitting right in frnt f me, just gave the swan a calm glance,” says Crdva.
Crdva called the recvery center, and Tristan, an animal-care manger, picked her up at the subway statin and drve the bird t the recvery center. There, staff members decided that the swan might have been hurt by a fish hk.
The staff lked after the swan carefully and gt it back up n its webbed feet. The swan even made a byfriend in the center. Sadly, it had a bacterial infectin. Tw mnths after Crdva came t its rescue, it passed away.

Designed with glbal energy cmpany Eni. the juicer is 10 feet tall and tpped with a massive dme (圆顶), feeding the juicer with ranges n demand. The dme is mad cup f rund tracks that hldup t 1, 500 ranges. A 3D printer is setup in the base f the machine.
The machine ges like magic. When an rder is placed, the ranges slide dwn the tracks t a squeezer, and the juice is then depsited (使沉积) int an “range peel” bi-plastic cup, ready t enjy. Meanwhile, the freshly squeezed peels fall dwn a tube and gather at the bttm f the machine where they are dried, milled and mixed with Ply lactic Acid, creating a bi plastic material The bi plastic is then heated and melted int a filament (细丝) and the 3D printer then creates recyclable biplastic cups, ready t be filled with freshly squeezed juice.

Researchers frm Xi’an Jiatng University cllected data frm participants aged 35 t 74 wh are residents f five nrthwestern prvincial-level regins. They divided the participants int three grups. The first grup eats rice as their main fd, cnsuming it either daily r fur t six times per week, while cnsuming wheat less than fur t six times per week. The secnd grup’s main fd is wheat, and the third grup cnsumes bth rice and wheat as their main fd, with similar frequency.
Then the researchers cmpared results and fund ut that rice preference might be assciated with a lwer risk f certain besity types in the ppulatin f Nrthwest China. Higher wheat intake was assciated with higher risks f excessive bdy fat and central besity (stmach fat) in men and central besity in wmen, accrding t the study findings published in the jurnal Nutrients.
Accrding t the researchers, previus animal studies shws that wheat gluten (谷蛋白) prmted weight gain by reducing heat prductin and energy cnsumptin, while rice prtein shws the ptential fr anti-besity and triglyceride-lwering (抗肥胖和降低甘油三酯) effects. Meanwhile, rice-based dietary patterns ften have mre fresh vegetables, meat and fish servings. When Ariel Crdva reached Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in Queens, New Yrk, last Nvember, she planned t g hiking and bird-watching. A mile int her walk, she nticed a beautiful female mute swan (疣鼻天鹅) near the water’s edge. Crdva, wh had wrked at the Wild Bird Fund recvery center in Manhattan, knew that swans can attack peple. On the subway, n ne seemed t be astunded by the feathered passenger. “Even ne guy, wh was sitting right in frnt f me, just gave the swan a calm glance,” says Crdva.
Crdva called the recvery center, and Tristan, an animal-care manger, picked her up at the subway statin and drve the bird t the recvery center. There, staff members decided that the swan might have been hurt by a fish hk.
The staff lked after the swan carefully and gt it back up n its webbed feet. The swan even made a byfriend in the center. Sadly, it had a bacterial infectin. Tw mnths after Crdva came t its rescue, it passed away.

The first grup eats rice as their main fd, cnsuming it either daily r fur t six times per week, while cnsuming wheat less than fur t six times per week. The secnd grup’s main fd is wheat, and the third grup cnsumes bth rice and wheat as their main fd, with similar frequency.
Then the researchers cmpared results and fund ut that rice preference might be assciated with a lwer risk f certain besity types in the ppulatin f Nrthwest China. Higher wheat intake was assciated with higher risks f excessive bdy fat and central besity (stmach fat) in men and central besity in wmen, accrding t the study findings published in the jurnal Nutrients.
Accrding t the researchers, previus animal studies shws that wheat gluten (谷蛋白) prmted weight gain by reducing heat prductin and energy cnsumptin, while rice prtein shws the ptential fr anti-besity and triglyceride-lwering (抗肥胖和降低甘油三酯) effects.
